The Home Depot Canada Foundation - Committed to ending youth homelessness.

In 2013 The Home Depot Canada Foundation set a new challenge to address youth homelessness because far too many of our young people are facing challenges with access to safe, stable and affordable housing.

Over the next three years the Foundation will invest $10M to support initiatives that help put an end to youth homelessness in Canada.

Our primary focus is helping the housing needs of youth through renovation and repair projects and programs that provide access to safe, stable shelter and support services.

Decent, safe and affordable housing is a basic human necessity.
It is vital to helping young people achieve their best potential and live independent, productive lives for themselves and their future families.

The Foundation is committed to improving places through renovation and repair projects, supporting programs that harness the capabilities of The Home Depot and its family of suppliers to support life-skills development for homeless youth, increasing understanding and awareness of the issue through research, and concentrating resources to create measurable progress.

The Foundation is dedicated to working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including non-profit, government and other corporations in this area to share knowledge and best practices in addressing solutions to end youth homelessness.

Did you know that:

on any given night, 30,000 people are homeless in Canada and 20% of these people are youth?

1 in 5 shelter users are youth?

40 - 70% of homeless youth have mental health issues?

youth are one of the fastest growing segments of the homeless population?

This is why The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to supporting the housing needs of Canada’s youth. Far too many of our young people are facing challenges with access to safe, stable and affordable housing.
