Utility Partnerships and Programs

The Home Depot Canada collaborates with utility companies across the country to host a variety of events in stores. Electric and gas utilities look to partner with retailers, such as The Home Depot, to develop and implement customized programs that aim to reduce electricity and natural gas demand in the marketplace.

Through these campaigns, The Home Depot and its utility partners provide consumers with rebates and incentives on energy efficient products to help them conserve energy in their homes and save money on their energy bills.

In partnership with utility companies such as BC Hydro, FortisBC, SaskPower, Manitoba Hydro, The Ontario Power Authority, Hydro Quebec, Efficiency New Brunswick and Efficiency Nova Scotia, The Home Depot has run many successful programs over the years.

In 2012 alone, The Home Depot hosted twenty five programs with eight utility partners from across Canada. Some highlights include:

  • BC Hydro's Spring and Fall Lighting Campaigns
  • SaskPower's Spring and Fall Custom Track Campaings
  • Ontario Power Authority's saveONenergy Coupon Events
  • Hydro Quebec's Mieux Consommer Programs
  • Efficiency Nova Scotia's Spring and Fall Plug Into Savings Campaigns

Through these programs, The Home Depot provided over 360,000 rebated products to Canadian consumers.
