Selecting the Right Barbecue
Nothing says summertime like a perfectly barbecued meal. Make your outdoor cooking experience sizzle with a quality barbecue that meets your grilling needs.
| The Basics |
|---|
|
When purchasing a new barbecue, take the time to consider the following questions:
Heating Up
Look for this BTUs icon when shopping for your grill to find the heat level that’s right for you! Selecting a grilling surface size to suit your cooking needs is an important decision. Whether you’re cooking for family or entertaining a larger group, you want to have the right amount of space. This can be a difficult to visualize, so we show easy-to-understand burner and burger count icons on our BBQs (burger count based on a 4x4 burger).

Your Options
Propane Barbecues
Propane gas barbecues heat up quickly and provide a high level of BTUs for cooking. They are also available with multiple burners with individual temperature controls, allowing you to simultaneously cook different foods at different temperatures. Gas grills make it easier to select and maintain precise temperature control. Added features include temperature indicators, side burners, back burners and storage cabinets. Propane gas barbecues are easy to clean, easy to use, and can be counted on to produce the same kind of flame every time.
Natural Gas Barbecues
Like propane-fuelled barbecues, natural gas barbecues heat up quickly and typically have the highest BTUs for cooking. Natural gas barbecues require a natural gas line connection to your grill for setup, and are also available with side and back burners, temperature indicators and storage cabinets. The greatest benefit of natural gas barbecues is the readily available, endless supply of fuel. Unlike propane gas barbecues, which need to be refilled, you'll never have to worry about running out of fuel in the middle of cooking when you have a natural gas barbecue.
Charcoal Barbecues
For the barbecuing enthusiast, the charcoal barbecue is a great choice. This is because it can cook foods at high temperatures to seal in juices, or low and slow to create the authentic smoky flavour many people love. When compared to gas grills, charcoal units take longer to heat up; however, this is often seen as a benefit to many grillers as they enjoy the art of getting the temperature just right.
Portable Barbecues
If you're looking for a barbecue for camping and tailgate parties, consider a portable model. Their compact designs offer flexibility and convenience without sacrificing quality.
