I do HVAC service and it's so compact it fits right in my tool bag so I always have it on hand and end up using it in situations I would normally use a screwdriver due to the incredible amount of control offered by the low speed setting, I can tighten any equipment fastener without fear of overdriving. This is my first brushless tool and I've been very pleased with the battery life, even on one of my old 1.3AH packs it's gone down one bar in a month of use.Date published: 2017-12-24Rated 5 out of 5 by AN from For its size this driver is very powerful. You can use with or without light and the light stays on for several seconds after you let off trigger. The low speed it ok i dont use it much i just keep on high speed. Hoping the new brushless motor lasts longer than previous version. All in all well worth the money built solid like you expect from Bosch!!Date published: 2017-08-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Flatfinish from The right size This driver has plenty of power and speed to do most tasks, even surprisingly large tasks. The small size and light weight are what I find to be the biggest advantages. Big advantages equal with that are the optional belt hook and the three lights around the chuck. The handle is very comfortable considering that it contains the stick type 12v battery pack but I'd still prefer the slightly thick handle to having a larger overall tool with slide pack design. This has been a great tool to work with for aerial, overhead, tight space and awkward positions. I use and own tools, batteries and chargers for several 18v and 12v platforms and would easily purchase this again over other 12v impact drivers.Date published: 2017-07-20Rated 4 out of 5 by Bklyn from Sadly I returned it returned to the store. I like the lightness, shape and grip of the Bosch 12 volt Max tools, but was very disappointed that the battery was so difficult to remove from the tool. I now have an impact driver with a slide battery. Not as compact, but a better choice for me.Date published: 2017-07-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Wildroamer from Mighty-Mite I must say, although it is extremely close in size and form to the PS22, they are most definitely different animals. For the heck of it I used each of them to drive 3" deck screws into a block of firewood (maple) and they performed very differently from each other. I cranked the clutch on the PS22 all the way to max (20) and put it on speed 1. It chugged along quite well, fairly quickly, and wrenched my hand sideways a bit just before the clutch kicked in, about 1/8" from flush. No surprise, it also stopped short of flush in speed 2. Setting it to drill mode cured that in both speeds, but there was some serious torque transferred to the hand. When I repeated this with the PS42, it was really quite cool how the impacting action produced virtually zero felt torque, in both speed 1 and speed 2. Another interesting discovery was how slow speed 1 is on the PS42! I'm guessing it is maybe 1/5 or less the speed of the PS22 on speed 1. I'm guessing this is to allow more precise driving of the screw, as there is no clutch. It was so slow, in fact, that I would never use speed 1 for such a task. A real powerhouse in such a small package!Date published: 2016-11-18
