I use a framing nailer very rarely but needed it for this project. It worked well and saved me a lot of time. I had no problems with jams. It worked well for a gun under $100. It did not fire the last 4 nails in the clip, but I did not find this to be a problem. I just added more nails. It is terrible at nailing toenails. If you are doing a lot of this, you may want to spend the extra money to get a better gun. It would only sink the nails 1/2 to 3/4 the way in. But in my case, I just pulled out my hammer and sunk them. I did not have a lot of toe nailing so it was not a big deal. Still better than having to hand nail all the nails. Bottom line. If you have the extra money and you will use it a lot, get the better gun. If you just need a gun to do a project here or there, don't spend the money. This will meet your need. As far a nails, I used the grip rite 30 degree nails. They worked great.Date published: 2018-03-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Charlie from Everything looks great with this, I have not used it yet. Only used a couple times on small jobs that required approximately 30 nails each. Tested it with approximately 100 nails the day purchased it. This isn't really enough use to tell how unit will hold up longer term. So far works great. Perfect for me that uses only on small jobs and occasionally.Date published: 2017-09-06Rated 5 out of 5 by SteveH from I have a circa 2003 Porta Cable FC350 but i purchased this nail gun to have a backup before build... I have a circa 2003 Porta Cable FC350 but i purchased this nail gun to have a backup before building my son a 12x16 out building. I used 2x6x16 Southern Yellow Pine DSS (Dense) wood for both the walls and floor joist (hardest pine to nail that exist). I also used 3.25 inch ring shank nails. We have only done the floor so far putting the 2x6x12 cross joist 12" on center and using 3 nails per joist into the outer 16 foot piece. I decided to use this nailer exclusively because it was new and under warranty and I need to do a good test during the return period. We assembled this floor and installed 3/4" plywood for the flooring and this nailer never jammed or missed a beat but we were giving the compressor a run for it's money. It is a great product for the price or any price. NuMax, if you are listening, The only thing that makes this less of a nail gun than my FC350 Porta Cable is the fact that is does not come with a case as the Porta Cable did.Date published: 2017-08-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Joshua from Made puttin up a wall for a walk in closet...
