PEX has always had great products and this 1/2 inch coupler is no different. It comes in a 5-Pack. You still need a clamp and a crimp rings to use these properly. I believe you can rent the crimping tool or you can purchase it if you will be doing a lot of work. The PEX coupler is very sturdy and does not feel like cheap plastic. I used it to run new 1/2 PEX for a whole home humidifier. Worked great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

They work great with PEX and are rated to 200°F and 200 psi so they are handy for other projects too. Although you need the crimp tool and rings they are a cheaper alternative for pipe mending for things like irrigation systems than some of the other fittings and are one of those things that I find handy to have about. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got these connectors to use in running a new water line to an outside hose bib. I hadn't worked with PEX pipe before but given the location in a crawlspace it's characteristics (better freeze/burst protection, no need for glue, flexibility, etc.) it seemed to be a good choice. Working with the material was easy. I joined the PEX to the existing copper pipe by sweating on a tee to which I had already fused a PEX adapter. You could also use a snap-fit tee connector to accomplish this if you're not comfortable with soldering. The rest was simple. The PEX attaches easily to the adapter and these push-on elbows, secured with cinch clamps, make each connection fast and leak-free. I've done a lot of plumbing over the years, mostly copper and PVC, but I found PEX to be much easier and faster to work with. It will definitely be my choice for future projects. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really like these as they not only can be used as they are marketed for PEX tubing, but with any water tubing project around the house. Rated to 200°F and 200 psi, I have used these to repair my pond aerator air tubing after chasing out the Snapping turtle that was chewing through the air lines. As a matter of fact, I like these fittings more as they are less expensive than the old alternative splices and there's five in a pack. I have also used these for my garden water aeration system. Affordable, durable and flexible. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

These unions work best with what is still a fairly new product called PEX. PEX is a new system for plumbing. You'll notice a blue n red tubing. This is PEX tubing and with the connector shown you can very easily join two piece of tubing together no heat no gluing needed. All you need other than what's pictured is a ring clamp and PEX crimping tool. It is possible as well to uncrimp the ring clamp should you ever need. These work with the shark bite clamps n shut offs also called ball cocks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

For PEX connections, I have a copper compression ring crimping tool, so it always seemed best to use brass couplings - it seemed that the plastic ones might not hold up to the compression. But after seeing others use the plastic connectors, I decided to give it a try, and they work just fine. They are lighter and less expensive, so I might just make the switch. They come in a variety of fitting sizes with straight connection and ninety degree connections. They provide a low cost solution to many plumbing applications. They are suitable for potable water as well. They are designed to work with copper crimp or stainless steel clamps and rings. Fitting sizes are all available and compatible with PEX piping. This is the best solution for irrigation and home watering systems. Excellent for splicing in repairs as well. I highly recommend these products for a variety of plumbing needs and solutions [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

These are small 1/2 inch plastic couplings but let me assure you that they are very strong. They are the usual SharkBite quality made with rings around them to give them a lot of strength so you can tighten down on them enough to prevent leakage. I use them to repair water hoses and I also like to use them for airline repair. I find them to be a great way to make fast repairs at a low price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
