Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed. The electrician backpack is well built and very sturdy. It has lots of pockets for all your needs. I highly appreciate the water bottles pouch on the side. The molded plastic bottom keeps it from falling over when sitting on the ground. The wide opening makes for an easy access to all your tools. I choose to use a backpack because I use public transport and it was the easiest way to get around. My only warning here is to be careful for the weight. It can get heavy very quickly and that is not ideal if you have back issues.

Over the years, I've had several tool boxes but they all were a basic box that I piled my tools into. To find something, most times I needed to search through the pile of tools. I got this backpack to end that frustration. It's very well built with heavy-duty materials. The strength and quality of the materials also comes at a cost since the backpack is 5.5 lbs. when empty. I've packed it with the general compliment of tools including all sorts of pliers, wrenches, hex sets, screwdrivers, tape measure, cutting tools, pry bars, tapes, glues, hammer, etc. Everything fits in its own compartment. I don't carry a laptop but I do carry a tarp to place on the floor where i'm working. The laptop compartment is perfect for that. So far the backpack is working great. I'm in the middle of a bathroom remodel and everything I've needed so far has been in the backpack rather than me running back and forth to my workshop. I'm thinking that this will be the last "toolbox" I'll need so the extra cost was worth it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is it. Toughbuilt's extreme conditions quality shows through on this bag. Right off the bat, you'll notice the hard plastic base that will deal with wet, muddy, or just dirty locations keeping your bag protected from these conditions AND it also keeps the bag upright. (A pet peeve of mine are backpacks that flop over when you try to prop them up, no such struggles with this one.) There is a separate padded compartment in the rear to hold 13"-17" laptops. What you may not notice is that the laptop slot has a sling at the bottom, so the computer doesn't bang into the hard plastic base but is suspended about an inch off the bottom. This is important since the laptop would hit the bottom and the ground each time you put the bag down. That severe wear and tear is removed with the sling approach. A large exterior side zippered pouch can easily hold a laptop's power cord and transformer. This simple need is often overlooked. The large double zippered front tool section has many different sized pockets. That's nice to afford the opportunity to store tools of varying sizes, from long handled screwdrivers to electronic testers. The usual approach is a bunch of same sized tool pockets, easy to make but not the optimum for the user/technician. Toughbuilt took the right approach. Beyond the 31 pockets and loops, there is an openness to this section allowing small to mid-size parts to be put into this area for transport to a job site or a medium sized case (ratchet set or parts container) to fit next to the individual tools stored in the pockets and loops. The shoulder straps are padded and there is a connector strap between the two in the middle of the chest. Personally, I like those cross chest straps, but if you don't you can coil each side up and easily store them in the sewn elastic loops on each shoulder strap side (see my picture). Finally, there is a large exterior zippered pocket with dual snap closures. You can put a large item in it (unzipped) and let the snap closures hold it in place (see my picture). The compartment is about 9" square and several inches deep, the exact depth can vary depending how much is stored in the large tool area. A key ring or tape loop and water bottle mesh pocket are also found on the front of the bag. Best work backpack I've seen that holds a laptop safely and separately from the tools/parts area. Tool and Tech Pro Backpack is an impressive tool-bag. Its configured as a work backpack with plenty of straps, pockets and ties to hold tools, yet can also carry a full sized 17-inch laptop or a lesser tablet securely and safely, too. Its made of extra tough ballistic material with a hard poly bottom and heavy duty zip closures all around. Working on job sites leaving the bag on the floor, at times, in water will eventually start soaking a bag and it contents. This bag's design mitigates that from happening as its water resistant with a solid poly bottom. The hard bottom goes up the sides a couple of inches and also eliminates sagging from the weight of tools that will cause the bottom to wear. The bag tool contents are separated between the main laptop pocket and tool compartment. The tools are away from your back so nothing is digging in. Its the flat computer that rests up against your back when carrying. The main tool compartment has plenty of pockets and loops, listed as 31 in total, if you want to count them. On the outside is a loop strap, more pockets and an open net enclosure for a water bottle or other stuff. The back straps are adjustable, large and comfortable with extra stress point padding on the back of the bag. A chest strap is also provided to keep the two shoulder straps from shifting. Its really built to carry the weight. There is also alternative carrying handle straps on the top of the bag. I have used old book backpacks for tools when they were no longer used for that purpose because I found carry everything over a shoulder more comfortable, but nothing as top notch as this bag with so much capacity. Those bags didn't last long and usually wore out fast or the straps started cutting into my shoulder. The reason this backpack is so useful because TOUGHBUILT has a reputation of putting a lot of effort into the design making their products useful and built for rough treatment. I also have their tool belt and its the same high quality. It was easy to give it high marks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

It is made of very heavy fabric with a heavy plastic flat bottom. The zippers are also heavy duty and open and close easily. The laptop section is thickly padded, but is a waste of space if you don't carry one, although I suppose some would find it useful for a binder, clipboard, or manual of some kind. All of this toughness adds up however, and the empty backpack weighs in at about 5 1/2 pounds by itself. It is a great alternative to a tool bag or box, looks like it will last forever, but may be a little heavy for other, everyday uses. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a heavy-duty well constructed tool backpack that can carry loads of gear plus a laptop. The backpack is constructed of durable weather resistant material fastened to a hard plastic base that helps give the backpack shape and stand up vertically. The backpack empty weighs 5.4 pounds and the dimensions are approximately 19 inches tall x 16 inches wide x 8 inches deep. There are 31 pockets and loops to hold and keep tools secure. There is a two way zipper that allows the large front flap to open and provide easy access. On the interior of flap is a zippered window pocket so you can easily identify items as well as velcro closures to secure items as well as a versatile front pocket that is great for flat items. The laptop sleeve can accommodate laptops with up to 17 inch screens, my 15.6 inch fit easily into the padded sleeve and was easy to get back out. The breathable padded shoulder straps are super comfortable even when loaded with tools, and the horizontal chest strap adds security. As with all ToughBuilt products this backpack comes with a limited lifetime warranty so you can bet it's going to last. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This bag is super durable and has a hard bottom which allows users to place heavy items in it without the worry of it tilting over. The bag has lots of compartments which allows for storing different items such as tools, pens, computers, or important papers. The straps are made strong, and there is very good padding to ensure you don't have to worry about bruising. Bag also has lots of pockets. The extra thick padding is nice to have in the event the bag falls over due to weight issues. The backpack and hold laptops up to 17 inches. This backpack is also good for traveling. It's high quality, with lots of room, and compact. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Backpacks have a definite edge over toolboxes when you need to take tools up on a roof or a pole,... Backpacks have a definite edge over toolboxes when you need to take tools up on a roof or a pole, and of course when you need to ride a motorcycle or bicycle. For quite some time now, I've been looking for a home inspection pack to use in my work as a general renovation contractor adding on to my own portfolio of rental properties. Typically, I would not carry around a notebook computer or a large tablet in this, but others would as part of their employment. I've found that the biggest problem with these tool/computer backpacks is that there isn't always a clean separation between the notebook and the tools, just a protective sleeve. This of course means that the crud from tools can migrate into the open ports of you computer, which is extremely bad. Perhaps this isn't such a big deal in electrical work, but in something like home inspection, well, I really don't want a glob of grease or some fungus I scrape off a wall with my awl to end up in one of the USB ports of my laptop. This backpack avoids the problem by having a clean separation between the tool part of the backpack and the padded notebook compartment. You can easily fit a clipboard in with your computer. This sacrifices a lot of space from the tool compartment, of course. So you can't exactly load this thing up with heavy tools and building materials in the many padded compartments and holders and be sure that it will do well, but if that's really what you need in a backpack, you're probably not using the backpack for the reasons why it was intended. The backpack also has a hard plastic bottom that can take serious mud and abuse. I like this very much. The thing will hold in all kinds of weather, under all kinds of ugly conditions. The large plastic zippers are backed by overlapping moisture flaps on the inside, instead of being covered by them, which makes a lot of sense for carrying your bag in the rain. The reflective strip makes very good sense for taking this thing on a bike ride or a walk along a dark road. The stitching throughout is reinforced and heavy-duty. All in all, it's going to be a great backpack for looking at homes, much better than what I was using previously. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
