Unclicks, lifts and scratches I bought roughly 6000 dollars worth of this flooring and it is TERRIBLE. I had it professionally installed by a team of multiple people and it doesn’t matter who did what section there are issues everywhere. When the sun hits it it lifts. Where there’s higher traffic it has unclicked completely. To the point where I have to jump it back into place every day just so I don’t have to look at the huge gaps in the floor. And throughout the entire floor there are multiple, random spots where it’s unclicking slightly. it also has been sliding length ways. And it that isn’t reason enough not to buy it, it SCRATCHES like crazy. You’ve been warned.Date published: 2018-10-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Dolores from LOVE IT We put this in the basement. All the basement smell went away... Oh the basement did not leak just had that unfinished basement smell. Anyway.. I live with my 6 year old MESSY grandson... he used his skateboard on the floor... I thought I would die... But it held up.. I was surprised as I have had regular click flooring before. HE will not be using the board again in the house. but I was happy to see it was ok and with his spills... still looks new after several months. I would definately use this product again if we ever have another basement to finish.Date published: 2018-03-29Rated 5 out of 5 by saskpinktoolbelt from Great product for DIY!! Bought this flooring when doing a bathroom reno. My husband was hesitant, however after many hours of research I convinced him. My husband was away during the reno, so I laid the flooring myself. I had a friend at hand for advice and to show me how to make tricky cuts. It was a breeze! I will say that you do have to pay attention to making sure each plank locks in, even with the dark color you can see if you need to adjust it. As for cutting, no fancy cutting tools needed! Yes! And as for the comment that you can't cut vertical cuts with out a saw. Yes you can, all you need is something as a guide. I used a 2x4. Tricky cuts around doors, closets, floor vents all can be done with little problems if you are patient, think out how the piece needs to laid, I used scrap pieces to make a pattern when I had to make multiple cuts to one piece. After my bathroom, I have done my front entrance , working on the back entrance which has stairs! And will be doing my kitchen as well. Ladies if you love doing small home reno projects, for sure try this product. Start in a small room to get the hang of it! Love this stuff! Oh and cleans up great! I had some paint drops on it....scrubbed off!Date published: 2016-05-12Rated 1 out of 5 by NWont from Dont do it We bought 1300 square feet of this to do the entire upstairs of our house with. It has now been installed for 18 months and i couldn't be more upset with this product. As Jcalgary stated if a mouse sneezes on this flooring it ends up scratched and there is no way to make the scratch look good. We expected it to be very robust with the 15 year commercial warranty and 20 year residential. Also as mentioned the planks do not stay together and you cannot simply try to re-lock the plants since the entire floor is one floating slab. We spent over $3000 on this flooring less than 2 years ago and are already thinking about our next option. Wish we would have went with laminate and spent half as much and would have been twice as happy The install directions say specifically that if glue is used that warranty is void as it is floating flooring, but if you were to glue it, in theory the planks wont come apart I wouldnt recommend this to anyone. Buyer bewareDate published: 2016-02-22Rated 5 out of 5 by RenoSmeno from Bathroom Reno's were so easy! We first purchased these when we had a surprise bathroom reno, a leaking shower is never just a leaking shower! Originally we were looking at tile, but were quite hesitant because we had never laid tile. The worker suggested for something easy that wouldn't get damaged to purchase this flooring. Not only does it go great with our bright blue bathroom (don't ask, the boyfriend thought it was a great idea), it goes with my rustic look as well. The flooring couldn't have been an easier install! It all clicked in great, and cutting it with an exacta knife worked just fine for us! They don't come apart, we've had no issues with the product at all! We were advised that just like laminate, we should leave a 1/8th of an inch for movement and it seems to have worked just fine. Couldn't be happier with my floor! And - when we had a surprise flooding, there was no water damage what so ever to the flooring! Great product, we will be buying a similar product when we redo the basement!Date published: 2016-01-26Rated 1 out of 5 by Jcalgary from Would be great if it worked I bought this flooring looking for a water resistant floor that I could use in a kitchen or bathroom but had the look of wood. It looks great when it first goes down but there's some serious drawbacks. First, it's relatively easy to install with the score and snap method working well for horizontal cuts. If you have to cut a vertical piece there is no way that method works. You will need some kind of saw to make accurate cuts along the vertical of the planks. Secondly, it scratches relatively easily and when it does you can see the grey material underneath the brown floor colour. As this is isn't wood you can't use wood filler to mask this. Third and most importantly, once installed this flooring is constantly unlocking along the horizontal and vertical joints. This is not an installation error, no matter how it goes in it just wants to come apart. If you put anything heavy on it (couch, appliance, etc) the piece the heavy object sits on will separate from the planks around it. Any flooring should be able to take a bit of wear and tear. This product just doesn't hold up to the demands of a floor. For the price, I'd choose laminate or tile instead of this any day.Date published: 2014-12-18
I'm looking for a floor that can handle an unheated cottage in the winter. There will probably be sand, water, dogs, and children on this floor. Would this floor bean appropriate fit? (It would be in a shipping container)Thank you for your question. This product must be installed in a temperature controlled environment.Date published: 2018-10-19
