Overview
In this workshop you will learn the basic information about electricity, outlets, switches, bulbs, and fixtures as well as how to test wires and switches for current. We will demonstrate how to install or replace a dimmer or timer switch as well as provide an overview on how to save energy using ENERGY STAR® qualified lighting.
- Identify hot, neutral, and ground wires
- Choose a switch that fits your needs
- Choose the correct light bulbs and fixtures for your lighting needs
- Identify ways to save energy and money with ENERGY STAR lighting
- Identify and purchase all of the correct The Home Depot products necessary for installing a new switch
- Recall basic safety practices for basic electrical projects in the home
