The Hex washer-head self-drilling steel metal screws are a powerful tool to have in your arsenal when performing metal-to-metal fastening. They deliver superior performance with a faster drive time and stronger pull-out rating. Made of high-quality steel and are specially heat treated. Drill point has been incorporated into the screw in the familiar twist drill design. These screws drill their own hole, form mating threads fasten securely. Can be used in steel, plastics, composite materials, wood plus various laminates. No pre-drilling is required. Great for general household repairs, renovations, improvements, and DIY projects, the sharp threads of these screws draw materials together and ensure a secure hold.
TimberLOK is a heavy duty wood screw for applications such as attaching rafter or trusses to the top plate, landscape timbers, fences, decks, headers, stair stringers and more. TimberLOK replaces 3/8" lag screws and is approved for use in ACQ pressure treated lumber. There is no need to predrill with TimberLOK. Its sharp point and aggressive threads zip right in to the densest woods.
Reinforced neck for increased driving torque. Bugle head for self countersinking. Square drive for no-slip cling fit. Coarse threads for extra holding power and faster uniform draw-down. Extra Sharp point easily penetrates wood without pre-drilling. Sawtooth threads for faster driving of screws without splitting.
GRK RSS Rugged Structural Screw has a patented design and made of specially hardened steel to provide customers with high tensile, torque and shear strength. The sharp threads and points bite instantly into material, including hardwood, reducing the splitting effect due to smaller shanks. The GRK RSS series screws that are 3-1/8-Inch and longer have six CEE threads which enlarge the screw hole for the non-threaded portion of the fastener, allowing the wood to settle easily and increases the screw's drawing strength. The CEE thread also reduces the friction on the screw shank which can lower the driving torque and reduce splitting. The round head with built-in washer type head shield does not have any sharp edges like conventional lag screws. The added shoulder underneath the washer has the ability to center the RSS screw in pre-drilled hardware like hinges and connector plates. The RSS screws can be used as a lag screw alternative
