The Home Depot Canada recognized as ENERGY STAR® Canada National Retailer of the Year
TORONTO, May 19, 2021 – The Home Depot Canada, the country’s largest home improvement retailer, has been named the ENERGY STAR Canada National Retailer of the Year for the eighth consecutive year. The company works closely with vendors and partners to offer over 9000 products backed by the trusted ENERGY STAR certification, to make energy-efficient products more affordable and accessible to its customers.

Key 2020 accomplishments for The Home Depot Canada include:
· Continued the Enbridge Smart Thermostat Program for Enbridge Gas customers that provided instant rebates on ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostats.
· Worked with vendors and utility partners across Canada to increase uptake on ENERGY STAR certified products through instant rebate programs as well as online rebate programs.
· Increased the number of ENERGY STAR certified products for sale in Canada over 2019.
· Supported the 12 Days of ENERGY STAR campaign and donated three upright freezers as prize giveaways.
· Offered a wide assortment of ENERGY STAR certified products including categories that supported consumer trends during the pandemic. In 2020, ENERGY STAR certified freezer sales increased significantly over 2019.
· Built a new partnership with Panasonic and Revent in order to offer customers a better selection of ENERGY STAR certified bathroom fans.
This is The Home Depot Canada’s thirteenth ENERGY STAR Canada award: National Retailer of the Year (2004, 2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021); Sustained Excellence (2012); and Advocate of the Year (2005).
