The Home Depot Canada Foundation has pledged $50M by 2022 to preventing and ending youth homelessness

As part of our commitment to preventing and ending youth homelessness, The Home Depot Canada Foundation has established an Emergency Relief Fund to support organizations that require funding to continue serving their communities. This funding will provide support to Canadian registered charities that continue to offer services to youth within our local communities during these challenging times. The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to supporting charities that work to prevent and end youth Homelessness in Canada.  We provide 3 grant programs for registered charities to apply to: Community Impact Grants, The Orange Door Project Grants and Orange Door Awards.

Community Impact Grants

Provides charities with funding up to $10,000 (cash and/or gift card) for affordable housing and community-based improvement projects. Preference will be given to repair, renovation and/or improvement projects to housing and/or other support facilities (i.e. employment services) for homeless youth given the Foundation’s primary focus on preventing and ending youth homelessness.

Applications will open July 6th 2020.

Orange Door Project Grants

Provides grants up to $50,000 to charities working to prevent and end youth homelessness in Canada. Funding is provided for renovation projects, prevention initiatives and employment/life skills programs.

The Orange Door Project Grants will open in January 2021.

Orange Door Awards

Provides a $25,000 award to charities that incorporate the voice and opinions of youth into programs designed to prevent and/or end youth homelessness in Canada.

Our primary focus is to support housing initiatives that benefits at-risk/homeless youth.

Please be advised, The Home Depot Canada Foundation does not fund:

  • Organizations that are not Revenue Canada designated charities.
  • Individuals.
  • Fundraising initiatives, including auctions, benefits, dinners, exhibits, conferences and sports events.
  • Courtesy or journal advertising campaigns.
  • Endowments or capital campaigns.
  • Personal or group expeditions.
  • Sports sponsorships.
  • Religious organizations.
  • Public or private educational institutions.
  • Child care centres.
  • Film, music, television, video and media production projects or broadcast underwriting.
