Our Initiatives

Through our initiatives we are helping at risk and homeless youth realize their full potential and build a brighter future.

Strategic Priorities

Quality Wrap Around Community Supports

The Home Depot Canada Foundation invests in holistic initiatives that not only will identify youth at-risk of experiencing homelessness, but also build organizations’ capacity for early intervention to prevent youth from re-experiencing homelessness. This can extend to school-based interventions and natural and family support.

Expanding Stable Housing

The Home Depot Canada Foundation supports both capital and operational costs for free or affordable housing spaces available nationally for youth. This includes investments in renovation projects that provide safe and secure housing to enhance their well-being and increases awareness for youth in need of the services available to them.

Increasing Youth Employment Readiness

The Home Depot Canada Foundation provides funding to organizations that are supporting education and employment opportunities for youth at-risk of or experiencing homelessness. Funding equips our partners to ensure youth have access to secure careers, including but not specific to those in the trades.

TradeWorx

TradeWorx

Youth who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness face barriers to securing employment, which results in a lack of stable income to attain and maintain affordable housing.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation’s TradeWorx is an investment in organizations across Canada, empowering 500 youths with the skills and certifications needed to help them secure a living wage and attain permanent housing.

TradeWorx’s funding commitment will help provide education and employment opportunities to young people overcoming homelessness. We’ll help empower and support them with the tools, training and social support needed to find a stable, well-paying career so they can begin to find a home of their own.

Strategic Partnerships

The Foundation partners with Canadian organizations to support their renovation projects and programs that prevent and put an end to youth homelessness. In 2023, we granted $3.8 Million to support our 18 Strategic Partners.

Team Depot
