Home Depot Canada Foundation

Our Initiatives

Through our initiatives we are helping at risk and homeless youth realize their full potential and build a brighter future.

The Foundation’s 4 Pillars

The Home Depot Canada Foundation focuses its efforts on housing, including repairs, refurbishments, and or modifications to a housing accommodation or other support facility that benefits homeless youth.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to programs that reduce the likelihood that youth will experience homelessness, ensuring that youth who have been homeless have access to stabilize their housing, enhance integration and social inclusion, and reduce their risk of recurring homelessness.

Employment/Life Skills

Employment/Life Skills

The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to providing job readiness training to ensure youth have access to meaningful employment to assist them in securing permanent housing. With a strategy to focus on the skilled trades, we are looking to remove barriers and increase access to opportunities for youth at-risk or experiencing homelessness.

Supporting research with national organizations such as A Way Home Canada, The Canadian Observatory on Homelessness, and the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, The Home Depot Canada Foundation looks to understand and implement meaningful solutions to ending youth homelessness.

Regional Partnerships

The Foundation partners with Canadian organizations to support their renovation projects and programs that prevent and put an end to youth homelessness. In 2020, we granted $2.9 Million to support our 15 Regional Partners.

Team Depot

Giving back to our communities is a value that The Home Depot is founded on, and one that’s important to all of our associates, as it allows them to establish strong, local relationships with our communities.

Team Depot is The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force. Our associates donate their time and talents to improving the wellbeing of local communities in the areas that we operate, partnering with the organizations The Home Depot works with, to contribute to preventing and ending youth homelessness in Canada.

Our Pandemic Response

The Home Depot Canada Foundation committed $2.7M in 2020 towards COVID-19 Relief. COVID-19 Response allowed for 65% of organization to fill emergency funding gaps due to COVID-19, while 57% were able to pivot existing projects to address needs to homeless youth.
