Our Policy
We are committed to providing everyday low prices. If you find a current, lower, advertised price on an identical, new, in-stock item from a local Canadian retail store or website, or from a Canadian online-only retailer’s website, we will match that price. Some exclusions are listed below.
How to Request a Price Match
At a Home Depot Store Location
- Identify the Price: Ensure the item is identical in brand, model, and size.
- Verify In-Stock Status: The item must be in-stock and available for immediate sale at both the competitor and The Home Depot.
- Provide Proof: Present a flyer, printout, website link, or photo showing the lower price to a cashier at the time of checkout. We will confirm the product qualifies for our Price Guarantee.
On homedepot.ca (Online Purchases)
- Gather Details: Note the brand name, model number, and the link to both the homedepot.ca product and the competitor’s current product page (or a copy of the competitor’s current applicable flyer).
- Contact Support: Before making your purchase, contact Customer Support via Live Chat or call 1-800-628-0525.
- Validation: We will confirm the product qualifies for our Price Guarantee and that the competitor can ship the item to your location. Prices for online items will be matched to localized online prices if available.
Major Appliances: 30-Day Price Guarantee
We offer a price adjustment if the price of a major appliance you purchased at The Home Depot drops within 30 days of the purchase date.
- Internal Price Protection Only: This guarantee applies exclusively if the price of the item drops at your local The Home Depot store or on homedepot.ca.
- Competitor Exclusion: This 30-day post-purchase adjustment does not apply if a competitor’s price drops during this period.
- Eligible major appliances means washing machines, dryers, unitized laundry centres, refrigerators larger than 12 cubic feet, freezers larger than 12 cubic feet, free standing ranges, built-in wall ovens, built-in cooktops and built-in dishwashers. In addition to major appliances, we will honour the 30-day price guarantee adjustment on built-in beverage centres, built-in wine centres, built-in over-the-range microwaves (OTRs) and range hoods.

- Receive Refund: Once verified, the difference will be refunded to your original payment method.

Yes. The product must be the identical brand, model, and size. Differences in finish (e.g., matte vs. gloss) or variations in specifications are not eligible.

Yes. We price match rental equipment and tools that are the same make, model and brand available for rental at local equipment and tool rental businesses. Prices will be matched to localized prices available.

No. Our policy applies only to the price of the product itself. Shipping, delivery, labor, assembly, and installation services are excluded.

If your request is approved, the refund is processed using your original payment method:
- Credit/Debit Cards: The difference is refunded to the card used for the original transaction. It may take a few business days to reflect, depending on your bank.
- Cash Purchases: The price difference will typically be refunded in cash at the store.
- Gift Cards: The refund will be credited back to a store credit.
- Online Purchases: Refunds are processed back to the original payment method, such as Visa, Mastercard, Home Depot Credit Card.

General Exclusions: The Price Guarantee does NOT apply to:
- Clearance & Discontinuations: Liquidations, close-outs, open-box, display, or damaged merchandise.
- Custom/Special Orders: Products that are customized, configured, or not part of regular stock, with the exception of special order appliances.
- Direct from Vendor & Third-Party Sellers: Items sold by independent third parties on marketplace or auction sites like Amazon Marketplace or direct from vendor.
- Commercial Pricing: Volume/wholesale discounts, trade quotes, contractor pricing, or bid pricing.
- Specific Program Exclusions: Rebates, free gifts with purchase, gift cards, credit, financing/lease offers, bundle offers, fraudulent prices, rain cheques, or typographical errors.
- Non-Product Costs: Taxes, delivery/shipping fees, eco/environmental fees, vehicle rentals, and Home Services.
Additional Terms:
- Price matches are available only at the time of purchase, except for the Major Appliances 30-Day Guarantee.
- Competitor prices must be in Canadian dollars.
- We reserve the right to limit purchases to "reasonable requirements," such as one job-lot or household quantity for Pros.
- Policy may be modified or cancelled at any time without notice. Cannot be combined with any other offer.
- In case of discrepancies between these terms and other advertisements, these terms and conditions shall govern as decided by the store associate.
