GST/HST Break FAQs

The Canadian federal government has announced a GST/HST break on select products. This tax break will be available from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025. For more details, please refer to the federal government’s holiday tax break information page.

Eligible products will have GST/HST exemptions applied once your order is submitted. You can view the final tax details in your order confirmation email.

Exempt items include, but are not limited to: food and beverages, children’s clothing, Christmas trees, and select children’s toys. For a full list, please refer to the federal government’s holiday tax break information page.

During the tax break, select items will be exempt from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), depending on your province or territory.
The following rate exemptions apply:
- 5% (GST) in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon.
- 13% (HST) in Ontario.
- 15% (HST) in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
