How to BBQ Salmon: Maple Glazed Salmon Recipe

Learn how to make soy maple glazed salmon on a grill by adding wood chips to a BBQ smoker tube attachment. Watch our video for how to make the homemade salmon marinade and the full BBQ salmon recipe.

  1. Step 1 Prepare Salmon Marinade

    Spices for salmon marinade in bowls ready to be mixed

    Mix marinade ingredients together in bowl. Place salmon, skin side up onto a large baking tray or dish, add the marinade and refrigerate for 1 hour.

  2. Step 2 Fill BBQ Smoker Pipe

    Fill smoker pipe with 50% soaked applewood chips, and 50% dry applewood chips. Place directly on grill burners. Preheat over to 350F with lid closed. Use burners under smoker pipe.

  3. Step 3 Pre-grease Grill Grates

    Once grill is hot, pre-grease grates with spray or oil dampened rag.

  4. Step 4 Place Salmon on Grill

    Remove salmon from marinade and place skin side up directly on the grill. Allow to cook for 15-20 minutes until grill marks for and salmon releases from grill. If the fish is sticking, allow it to cook longer.

  5. Step 5 Salmon is Ready

    Salmon is ready when the texture bounces back when pressed, and fish is flaky.  Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
