Updating your countertop is a great idea for many reasons. It will do wonders to transform and modernize your space, and you’ll also notice how much more polished the room becomes – and easier to clean! After all, when countertops become stained and porous with age and use, they look dull and worn-out and far from stylish. And as we know, it is kitchen (and bathroom) renovations that yield the best return on investment year in and year out. What better reason to update your countertops?
Q: How long does it take to install a new countertop?
A: Although it does take time to research what countertop material is the best choice for you and your lifestyle, an actual Countertop Installation can typically be executed in 1-2 days.
Q: Can I use a different countertop for the island in my kitchen?
A: Island countertops get more use than any other surface in your kitchen, so you could definitely consider a different material relative to what is chosen for the other areas in your space, but carefully weigh your choices: Granite and quartz, for example, make great selections for their natural beauty and resistance. See below for more details on all of the different countertop materials available at The Home Depot and the distinct advantages to each.
Q: How will I know that my service provider is authorized by The Home Depot?
A: All of our handpicked providers carry an orange The Home Depot Installation Services badge. If this badge is not visible, ask to see it. This badge means they have undergone a thorough background screening process and are properly licensed and insured.
Q: What are the available methods of payment?
A: All major credit cards, personalized cheques, and financing options with The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card.
Granite is unique and made from pure natural stone. It’s one of the hardest stones available, and is durable and maintenance free. It’s stain-protected, and resists heat, scratches, stains, and protects against mold and mildew. Our natural stone comes with a 15-year stain resistance warranty.
Manufactured with 94% quartz, this surface is extremely hard, durable and low maintenance. It’s a non-porous material with anti-microbial protection that resists scorching, bacteria and stains. Quartz patterning and colours are more predictable than granite, while still maintaining the beauty and look of natural stone.
With over 100 colours to choose from, you’re sure to find a look that’s right for you. Solid surface countertops look great and are easy to clean, repair and maintain. They contain non-porous material that makes it stain and heat resistant for long lasting results. Integrated solid surface sinks offer a beautiful seamless option.
An environmentally friendly choice in countertops, containing 75% recycled content. ECO is extremely durable and resistant to staining, scratching and scorching and comes in many design options.
One of the most widely familiar countertop surfaces, laminate is still the most economical choice. These countertops come in the widest assortment of colours and designs, and available in-stock or can be customized through special order.
