I sprayed the chute and auger with silicone spray lube to keep wet snow from sticking. Power switch on handle should be moved back a little to facilitate keeping the switch depressed. It is a bit awkward to keep pressure on for extended amount of time with heavy gloves on. Scraper bar on the bottom is showing quite a bit of wear from my rough driveway with only 4 times being used. Overall I would recommend this machine. It is light and powerful and at a fair price.\n

Unit was purchased f...\n Got this as a Christmas gift, and I was not excited.... and I found out why. Unit was purchased from Home Depot by my in laws.\r\n\r\nI am not elderly so this may appeal to the older crowd, but I think it is quite unhelpful and well... junk. I wish I just returned it instead of trying it, since now the plastic bottom is scratched up from using it quite gently.\r\n\r\nYou cannot direct where the snow goes, it shoots straight up and the snow goes all over you and pretty much just lands back in the shoveled area. I suppose if you went extremely slow it may not land back in the shoveled area but it would take an hour that way to do what I can manually shovel in 15 minutes. Also leaves at least 3/8” snow behind after you make a pass so you need your manual shovel anyway!\r\n\r\nIt's pretty sad when it is faster and easier to shovel manually then it is to use this junk. I gave it two stars because it does actually blow snow, just very badly.\r\n\r\nI have the box still Snow Joe, and would love to send this to you and get the money my good intending in-laws wasted on this junk machine. There is no other solution, extremely unsatisfied.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 4 out of\n 5\n by\n Anonymous from\n Great Product for Smaller Snow Removal Jobs\n Arrived just in time for record setting snowfalls in IA. After living in a condo for 26 years and not worrying about snow removal, our new home has a short driveway, sidewalks and two decks that we are responsible for. The area is not big enough for a heavy full-size snow blower, so the Snow Joe is perfect for the job. It's fairly easy to operate, although one has to hold in a button and trigger at the same time to start (a challenge with gloves on) and then you must continue to squeeze the trigger while in operation. It's a sturdy machine and is easy to operate when plowing a straight path. Since you are unable to control the direction that the snow is thrown, it's best to operate it with the wind at your back.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 5 out of\n 5\n by\n Domenic from\n amazing little shovel !\n this shovel has amazing power for an electric shovel I was very impressed. I do find it a little heavy but you know what it beats going to the gym. Saves a lot of shoveling. If you use it on the ground and just push it you don't even feel the weight, but if you use it with heavy snowfalls where you have to start at the top and work your way down it's a little heavy, Trick is to go out and clean when you have 5 to 6" on the ground this way you won't need to lift it.\n
