\n \n \n \n Rated 3 out of\n 5\n by\n JRXX from\n Good product but terrible instructions\n I used this product to fasten new deck stringers because of all the recommendations for their use. Fairly simple device sold as loose pieces at Home Depot. The problem came when trying to figure out how to install it. There is a website marked on the connector itself that takes you to a general product page. After finding the specific product page, there is no link to installation instructions, just various links to product drawings, general notes and catalogs. The catalog page has just a few tersely-worded notes telling you to use approved hardware, etc., to achieve stated ratings. After searching around the internet for some time and looking at some videos, I finally figured out to mount the connectors on the header board first and then the stringer. There are two oval holes along the length that appear where they need to be bent, depending on which side you want the flanges. The only specific thing I saw was to use one screw on the second to last hole on the bottom side. Also, I found another file showing approved fasteners. For screws, they say to use #9x1-1/2 Strong-Drive SD Screws which are also sold at HD. Just be aware that when you use these screws, the stringer cannot sit flush against the connector because the hex-heads stick out, so you end up with a gap. The company should develop better installation documentation, even if it's just a simple PDF file.\n
