Despite having street lights, my residence is in a relatively dark rural community. The cap looked pretty and was bright enough to keep folks from hitting my mailbox and facilitated mail removal at night. I normally replace the battery once or twice a year, as the colder darker winters in the mid-Atlantic take its toll on battery life. And every so often, taking the top off for a clean keeps it bright. After 5 years, the light finally went out and as I looked for a replacement lamp, somebody hit my mailbox! I now have a new Mayne solar cap. I am a female and a senior, but a step ladder (I’m just over 5 ft tall) and a drill got the job done. A second set of hands would have made it easier but it is doable without. Definitely adds to the beautiful Mayne mailbox.\n
