Already had batteries and charger from the weed eater and smaller hedge trimmers I had previously bought. It is heavy/not for the weak but it does work great and extends my reach and lets me cut large shrubs from the ground or from the first one or two steps of a small ladder. Made my life easier.\n

Overall balance is what one should expect from a weight on the end of a pole.
