So much so that I am currently contemplating ripping what I have in, out; and then starting anew.\r\n\r\nYou know, we put up with a lot as consumers, but this is beyond ridiculous. Lucky to find 10 square feet out each box that is usable, and even then each board requires cutting just to square the receiving end.\r\n\r\nHardness, widths, tones, colours, sheen, all wildly inconsistent. \r\n\r\nWaste of time, waste of money, and beyond frustrating.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 1 out of\n 5\n by\n nelson from\n Poor quality\n Bought 16 boxes of this product recently, but there were too many quality issues with the wood. Perhaps the greatest problem was that the boards were generally not at all straight, which made impossible getting a tight fit between rows on the floor. I have used other products like Appalachian and never had this problem. Also the milling on these boards was poor with many gaps. The width was also uneven for some pieces.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 2 out of\n 5\n by\n Nickie Abraham from\n Bruce Flooring\n Unfortunately, we purchased 10 boxes of flooring and whoever picked those boxes were not from the same dye lot. Also, in two of the boxes all the long pieces had been removed AND had already been used. There were wholes in the tongue where the staples had been removed. Very disappointed.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 4 out of\n 5\n by\n Brandon from\n Solid Wood for a Solid Price\n Great stuff for the price when on Sale. (wish I wasn't told during black friday sale it goes on sale all the time as I still need 19 boxes to do my main floor and still waiting....) The boxes I got were all good except one had some defective pieces but was able to still use them.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 4 out of\n 5\n by\n John from\n You get what you pay for with the Bruce name.\n Beautiful Oak grain with a rich Gunstock finish. Beware this hardwood is almost like a cottage grade quality. What I mean by that is the finish can have slight imperfections or blemishes to serious defects. Such as split or cracked boards, missing tongues or uneven edges on groove side. So when pricing keep in mind to add another at least 15% waste. Otherwise very nice Bruce hardwood at a bargain price.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 3 out of\n 5\n by\n john from\n Not recommend\n Almost none of them in perfect condition. If you want to finish the floor perfect you might end up throw out more than 50% of them. But if you're ok with some in perfection it's ok for the price.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 3 out of\n 5\n by\n Carpenter K from\n ok , but out of square\n The price was right but many joints out of square. we used those pieces for cut offs. The person in the factory must have been sleeping and not tuning the machine to cut the boards square.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 5 out of\n 5\n by\n retired 4283 from\n A beautiful product\n I purchased this product in December to be installed by myself in a small 10 X 12 foot computer room. I was a little leery because some of the reviews complained of warped boards and too many short lengths in the package but went ahead anyway.\r\nI started the project in January and only had to deal with 2 boards that were slightly warped and still installed them without much of a problem. I am very happy with the product and next fall I will install the same product in my master bedroom.\r\nVery, Very happy!\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 3 out of\n 5\n by\n Rick from\n Middling product at a great price\n Purchased on a Boxing Week sale event for a great price. Middle of the road product. Waste is higher than the 10% that I estimated. Box after box seems filled with boards that have black marks on them although the marks are relatively easy to remove. The finish is easier to mark up and dull than I expected. Quality variability of the product from board to board is extremely high. Each board has to be carefully inspected for flaws and incomplete milling debris removed. Recommended only if you purchase 20% extra and it is intended for light duty service.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 4 out of\n 5\n by\n Jenn from\n Great colour and lots of character.\n We ordered 16 boxes during a sale. We swooped in and picked it up. 2 boxes were not up to snuff. One has tonsils of cut off ends and wasn't even full. The other was full of unusable pieces. We were able to exchange them for new boxes but really, this should not have been necessary.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 2 out of\n 5\n by\n Brandon from\n Terrible Milling\n While the price is decent I would not recommend this wood to anyone. The ratio of damaged (broken or missing tongue, cracks, dry rot, nail holes, etc) is well above 5%, would estimate about 60% of pieces had damage of some kind. Maybe one in fifty was not significantly warped. Install is brutal due to every piece needing to be levered, wedged and clamped into place. Widths are inconsistent as well, leading to gaps even when being as selective as possible. If you must use this wood, buy at least 30% extra. If you are paying to have it installed, buy something else, the extra labor needed will cost more than what you save on this stuff.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 4 out of\n 5\n by\n Cmt828 from\n Looks good\n Bought and installed myself. It looks good and was fairly straightforward. I was a little surprised on the amount of warped or defected boards however. I understand it’s usually up to 10% but it seemed higher. Overall happy with the product.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 2 out of\n 5\n by\n ACOttawa from\n Poor quality control\n Bought 32 boxes to the main floor. So far have opened 16 boxes an 1/3 is unusable (badly warped pieces, defective and/or damaged during manufacture), at this rate half of the boxes I bought will be unusable. The installed floor looks very nice, unfortunately I do not know how many more boxes I will have to buy in order to complete the job.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 3 out of\n 5\n by\n sharaths6 from\n You get what you pay for\n I used 58 boxes of this floor and my floor looks great. However, we had to work with a lot of off color, short and bowed pieces. Some of the pieces weren't even oak, good thing we could hide these in the closet. I would be very cautious in buying this if I was doing a small area. With larger areas you can mix and match and it evens out.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 2 out of\n 5\n by\n 59gordo from\n \n I purchased 15 boxes Replacing the Bruce flooring that was there (about 15 yrs old) The quality of the new flooring is about the same. The reason I gave only 2 stars is that there were many short pieces in the box as well as many marked pieces I have installed Bruce seconds (B grade) in the past and this is what this flooring reminds of. If you are looking for first rate product I would not recommend this product, however the price is less expensive\n
