Even thought they seem flimsy and didn't always lay flat, I worked around it by laying stones on corners until I filled in each piece. The best part however is how easy it was to cut and to fit where I needed it. This was the one Item I was able to calculate perfectly and didn't have to go out and by more. Overall I am pleased.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 1 out of\n 5\n by\n john from\n base must be perfectly level\n Expensive, time consuming and base must be perfectly level. Got half way through a 230 sq ft patio and gave up. It took forever to get everything perfect and still the bock was uneven and correcting one problem meant removing previous blocks causing other problems. Dont see a benefit at all. I went to just a sand base and a much easier time and a better result. I wouldn’t recommend even attempting to use this alternative. I returned this and switched to a thicker base of leveling sand\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 4 out of\n 5\n by\n Amit from\n Easy install\n Price is the only con. Tip: install them in a way where you can lay one panel on top of the other instead of having to lift an edge and having to slide the next panel in under and possibly disturbing your screeded sand. All in all it was worth it. Total patio size 224sq foot. The test of time will determine if it was really worth it.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 1 out of\n 5\n by\n HidesWiresInWalls from\n Limited Usefulness\n These seem like a good idea and the idea of saving the work of hauling and placing a traditional gravel and sand base is appealing. However…\r\n\r\nThe only work in very limited applications. If you're setting pavers on level ground and don't care about the exact grade, then they might work well. But if you're trying to match grade or have to adjust a slope of fill low areas then you're going to be hauling some gravel.\r\n\r\nThe big problem comes if you want to set your pavers with nicely matched levels. If you were using traditional methods, you could easily add a bit of sand or tamp down the sand to adjust the level. With Paverbase the sand is under the base so you can't easily adjust it. Sand added on top of the base has to be exactly right as the plastic of the base won't let you tamp it down if there is a bit too much.\r\n\r\nAll in all, I find it easier to use a traditional gravel base.\n

The downside is buying them at home depot ends up costing a lot more than if bought at the other bighome improvement store. Home depot charges more per panel plus each panel is 4 inches narrower so the more you need the more you will save by not buying at home depot. Love the product though.\n
