Gives me plenty of air for my projects. I use it for many jobs from putting air in my vehicles tires to running my air staplers, air ratchets or just blowing off my lawn mower. It works great.\n

My only complaint is that it is somewhat difficult to reach and turn the valve on the bottom of the tank to release any water. I have to tilt the compressor and rest the handle on the bench to be able to reach my hand in to turn it.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 5 out of\n 5\n by\n Keith from\n The new DeWalt makes less racket than my old compressor...\n The new DeWalt makes less racket than my old compressor which rusted through after 30 years. The trick of replacing the factory provided drain valve with a 90 degree brass street L, a 6" brass nipple, and a ball valve (all three 1/4") corrected the lousy factory drain valve. A 2nd 90 degree L after the valve directs drainage downward rather than outward. The new arrangement runs toward the wheel on the right side (facing the unit) and can be easily opened by the toe of a shoe. Closing the improved drain still requires bending over. The 7.7 SCFM output tops my prior 7.3 and is plenty for blowing out irrigation and sandblasting and repainting vintage Tonka trucks.\n

It cam...\n This thing turned out to be a little bigger than I had expected, but it was not a problem. It came fully assembled and after removing the packaging, it was ready for the break-in. The only problem I encountered was the quick connect. The literature states it is a universal connector but I was unable to get my Husky brand high flow connectors to work. I changed out the connector with Husky HF and was in good shape. During break-in I realized this compressor is much louder than the stated decibel rating. Using a decibel meter app on my phone I measured 92dB at approximately three feet. It takes 6 minutes and 15 seconds to fill the 30 gallon tank to 150 psi. One finished, I drained the tank at the hard to reach drain valve, inconveniently located at the bottom, center of the tank. There is not a lot of clearance between the valve and the floor. It is a little distressing to see the water draining from this new tank look so rusty. Other than that, it is a good product (so far).\n

Hopefully it lasts ! Only had it a month at this point. Runs my air nailers great, as well as my air wrenches. Probably not enough capacity/ or quick enough make-up for a sander.\n

I never got passed the break-in, the unit would run about a minute then shut down. I had it plugged directly (no extension cord) into a dedicated 20amp circuit. I returned the unit. I know manufacturing and like Dewalt products (I own several Dewslt tools) and thought this could be an infant mortality failure, so I ordered another exact unit. It is reasonably quiet compared to my other older unit. So I cannot recommend the unit yet, but still confident it will perform well.\n
