They are used for marking 45 & 90 degree angles, marking pitch/hip-valley cuts, 7 inch rule, and can be used to mark straight lines for cuts. All this in one tool. Anyone that doesn't have one, doesn't know what they are missing out on.\n

\n \n \n \n Rated 5 out of\n 5\n by\n HomeDepotCustomer from\n one of the best if not the best speed square available!\n The the jagged or notched area of this speed square is the first thing that sets it apart from the pack. Need to rip a long length of material from stock, just put your pencil in the appropriate notch from 1" to 5 1/2" (spaced every 1/4 inch) and slide the square and pencil together for a perfect mark every time. Not sold yet? The little rectangular cut out in the middle of the square, that's a bottle opener!\n
