Rated 1 out of 5 by from Washes great, durability stinks Awesome machine for the first year then the plastic drive hub (part# W10396887) stripped it's splines. After waiting a month and with some persistence the repairs were made under warranty. Now four months later the same part has failed again. Some quick research shows this to be a common failure item on machines using this part. Gee whiz Maytag / Whirlpool the warranty claims on this item alone must be costing you a fortune not to mention what it does to the reputation of your "premium" commercial grade brand. I have had my fill of todays selection of washing machines which are great on looks but poor on performance and longevity. I have decided to go back in time and buy this commercial model which is almost like the washers I grew up with. They may use a little more water but they get the clothes clean and hopefully will last as long as what a washing machine should last, at least 15 years.

Avec nos 3 enfants, plusieurs lavages à faire par semaine, mon conjoint et moi étions convaincus de faire le meilleur choix. Par contre, grosse déception, cet appareil ne lave pas bien du tout! Pourtant, nous avons bien consulté le guide pour voir si c'était pas nous qui étions dans l'erreur. Et non! Très déçu! De plus, elle essore très peu. Nous devons toujours faire un deuxième essorage suite à notre cycle de lavage. Notre laveuse bas de gamme que nous avions depuis 11 ans était plus efficace que cette laveuse commerciale. Ne payer pas le double du prix pour rien.

We threw out our seven year old still functioning washer that never really got clothes clean and replaced it with the Maytag Commercial. Now we have a washer that gets clothes very clean in a fraction of the time of our old machine. And if it needs a repair some day, it will be worth fixing because this washer is built to last like the washing machines of old. We are very happy with our purchase.

It is a large capacity, top loader, with an agitator. No need for bells and whistles. It does an amazing job. It is quick and cleans better than any previous machine I have owned.

If you want a washer that cleans just as well and just as fast as your mom's old Maytag, this is it. Nothing high efficiency will match this washer for cleaning power or speed. It's also well built and uses heavy duty components.

Could only be made better by being able to fully adjust the water level, instead of just full and half full. And also, you should have a half-tub fill for delicates, most of the time there isn't enough items in the machine to warrant a full tub of water. Oh and also, when you use presoak, it shouldn't make the Normal mode use a full tub and change from the spray rinse to a full tub rinse. Sounds like a lot of complaining but we actually love the machine, would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

We chose this washer because of its one smaller dimension than most full size washers, which would allow us to bring it down to the basement laundry room. That being said, it seems to have a larger tub than our previous machine. If we have a complaint, it is the that valve, which regulates the flow of hot and cold water to get the right temperature, is extremely noisy--in spite of it being in the basement it is impossible to run a laundry while people are sleeping. I even am concerned with the impact on our piping. I sometimes wonder if there is something defective in this respect.

Hi Looking for a washer that does not fill water based on sensors.....does this machine fill up TO THE TOP with water if large load is selected? Thanks

Hello, thank you for contacting the Whirlpool Central Advisors. To answer your question, please note that newer models will fill up the water based on the cycle chosen and the cycle weight. If you're looking to have more water filled up, you can try to select the Bulky/Towels cycle as it is set up to wash large items such as jackets and small comforters. Can you wash a King size comforter in this machine?

As per page 5 of the owner's manual (https://homedepot.scene7.com/s7viewers/html5/eCatalogViewer.html?config=Scene7SharedAssets/Universal_HTML5_eCatalog&asset=homedepotcanada/MVWP575GW_USE_CARE-pdf.pdf) it is possible to wash small comforters in this machine and since a King-sized one does not fall in this category, this would not be recommended as it would overload the machine. What’s the shortest cycle on this machine

Hi Sandy, Thanks for your question. Our washing machines do use Adaptive Wash Technology which means the washing machine takes into account different things like load cycle, choice of cycle (bulky, delicate etc), amount of soap in water, water temperature etc. to determine what levels to fill the water and how much water to use throughout the wash. Due to all of these variables, things like water consumption and cycle times do vary with every cycle and are not specified. Whirlpool

Par des recherches, j'ai trouvé la réponse à cette question ainsi que à l'autre question demandant si c'était une machine toute mécanique. Autrefois, les laveuses électriques ne fonctionnaient pas du tout avec de l'électronique, donc on pouvait n'importe quand changer le cycle et la laveuse ne se vidait pas. On pouvait, rendu au rinçage, l'arrêter, reculer le cycle dans le lavage, on la repartait et la laveuse ne se vidait pas, elle continuait où on l'avait reculée. On pouvait aussi, si on se rendait compte qu'on devait régler la laveuse autrement, comme dire qu'on veut une grosse brassée alors qu'elle est maintenant réglée à petite brassée, c'était possible n'importe quand. Maintenant, il y a à l'intérieur de toutes les laveuses, un board électronique, et lui, il ne permet pas de reculer ou de se placer ailleurs dans un autre cycle une fois que la laveuse a commencé à fonctionner. Si on veut placer le cycle ailleurs, on doit canceller le cycle et la laveuse se videra au complet avant qu'on puisse repartir la laveuse dans un autre cycle prédéfini. Même les laveuses dites à contrôle mécanique ne sont pas des laveuses toutes mécaniques comme les laveuses électriques d'autrefois. Le contrôle mécanique, c' est seulement le bouton qui est mécanique, ce qui signifie que ce n'est pas des chiffres de lumière sous une vitre. Un bouton mécanique est un bouton rond qu'on tourne, mais en-dedans, ce n'est pas mécanique, c'est électronique, contrairement à avant. Cela n'existe plus, des laveuses mécaniques comme autrefois.

Cette laveuse a un cordon d'alimentation électrique avec trois broches pour la mise à la terre. Bonjour Sylvie, Merci pour votre question. Cela dépend de la sélection du tissu et des instructions sur l'étiquette du vêtement. Les cycles en eau profonde fourniront plus températures pour le cycle de lavage. Après avoir sélectionné un programme, sélectionner la température de lavage désirée en tournant le bouton Temperature (température de lavage). Tous les rinçages se font à l’eau froide du robinet. Tous les rinçages sont froids. De l’eau froide est ajoutée pour économiser de l’énergie. Ceci sera plus froid que le réglage du chauffe-eau pour l’eau chaude de votre domicile.
