Rated 5 out of 5 by from Legit for tires! Delightfully surprised at this tool. I first used it to blow up a vehicle tire from flat. Expecting the battery to run out or the tool to be overworked, it wasn't a problem, I just stood there and in a few minutes the tire was inflated to 30psi. The unit is light, it didn't shake my hands numb, it didn't get hot, the battery I poached from my drill didn't run out, and the digital psi display and its placement is perfect to keep track of the pressure. Surprisingly, this is one of the best Ryobi cordless tools I've purchased!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ryobi cordless High Pressure inflator with gauge The Ryobi tire inflator is a handy unit. I have only used it to top off truck tires but it works fine for that. Two somewhat negative things about it: 1- the digital pressure gauge is not accurate (it is off by 2-3 psi) and when you reach the desired pressure and release the trigger, the pressure immediately drops down a few psi. Not a big issue, you need to overfill (according to the display) knowing it will drop down when you stop. 2- the other thing is that the hose gets quite warm after running the inflator for a minute or so; it makes me wonder how hot it would get when filling a nearly flat tire. But the unit is indeed handy to use rather than filling a compressor and dragging a hose out. Also will be handy when away to fill trailer tires etc. Time will tell how long it will last!

I purchased this inflator for use at my rural property to keep our tires at the right pressure, and for switching over tires at season change. I appreciated the compact size of this tool and how light it was, but that was about it. After putting my winter tires on my truck it took four full batteries to get the tires up to the right pressure--yes, one full charged battery per tire. It also took a good 5 to 8 minutes per tire to top them up after being stored in the garage for the winter (the tires were not deflated). This would work fine for the occasional top up for smaller tires or maybe even emergency use, but not for regular use or for inflating an empty tire.

I can quickly check trailer tires pressure and top up before picking up a heavy load. As well I use it to monitor and adjust both irrigation and house pressure tanks as well as the ride on mower tires. All are located far apart on my property so an trully portable inflator is a must!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have I'm going to get rid now of my noisy compressor, since I only used it to inflate tires. I used this yesterday to inflate my bike's tires. The rear tire had a normal (Schreder) valve and the the front is a skinny valve (Presta) that I had to use a hand pump to inflate before. To my pleasant surprise, this things includes the adaptor for the Presta as well as the "needle" adaptor to inflate balls. Really awesome.

Like any compressor, it makes some noise, but that is to be expected. For quickly filling things in the yard, like bike tires and wagon tires, it works like a dream. The battery usage is fine, and the digital readout is very nice. It can top up your vehicle tires as well, but don't expect that process to be quick. As an emergency tool in your back seat, it is perfectly adequate (as long as you have a charged battery along). The tool does get warm with extended use, but nothing alarming. Once I had this tool in my garage, I found myself using my large shop compressor a lot less. It even comes with adapters for bike tires and sports balls. A very affordable item for everyday use.

I've only used it a few times, but it has a LOUD grinding noise happening when I'm trying to inflate anything. It gets hot quickly and I've just put it in the back of my tool shed and bought a cheaper inflator that works much better.

I apologize for having to ask this question again, but, for people here have asked if this inflator comes with a Presta adapter. 2 users say yes and Ryobi Canada twice said you would have to purchase a Presta adapter. Which is it?

I have had this tool just over a year and have found it to be very usefull, but the last couple times I have tried to use it it runs for about 15 seconds and stops. It will start again but stops

I've had mine for well over a year and it still runs for long periods. You can't run it over five minutes as it will overheat. It needs to cool down. I'd try a new battery. Barring that, it sounds like the one you have is either broken due to water damage or over heating, or its defective (defective is less likely I'd you've used it often over a year with no issue).

Will this work for both presta and schrader bike tire valves? And be quick enough to rapidly inflate a tubeless bike tire?

I use mine for inflating car tires, which have schrader valves. I am told you can get an adaptor for presta valves. I use the inflator quite a bit and have found it very handy. It has a reasonably long hose and a locking valve connector. The digital gauge is nice although it is often 2 lbs different that my other digital gauge on a 35lb inflation (not sure which is correct!). It would fill a bike tire fairly quickly. I use a 4ah battery and it can run for a long time, although I wouldn't attempt to fill a flat truck tire unless I had no other choice. Hope that helps.
