Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite what I'd hoped for I purchased this washing machine because my front load one was putting holes in my clothes so I wanted to go back to the top load, like my folks had when I was young. I didn't realise that this machine was energy efficient and hence doesn't fill up the basin as I'd expected. After my first wash I did not feel like my clothes were cleaned as I could see through the top that barely any water was added. However, I gave this three stars instead of one because I figured out that you can get a decent wash if you choose "extra heavy soil" and a normal wash. With that option the basin does fill up to cover most of the clothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GE Adora Washer I have had the Washer now for about a month and am quite satisfied. Other reviews are correct when they say to read the manual on how to properly use the machine and its features. I will admit I was a bit nervous when I first used it and saw the amount of water that went into a load compared to older models of machines that I have owned. However, once you get the hang of how these new High Efficiency machines work it’s not hard to figure out. Also, if you have a lot of clothes or when I wash a lot of towels or sheets I use the Deep Fill option and trust me it gives you a ton of water! All new technology has its learning curves and this is one of them. My clothes have always come out clean and I have not had any issues there.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GE Andora Washing Machine with Agitator When I bought this washer with an agitator, I thought it would constantly move the clothes down and around (like my older washer with agitator did) but it doesn’t - it just moves the clothes back and forth and the agitator moves them slowly downwards. It will not wash stains from clothes unless you pretreat, even light stains. Lastly, I have to Pause the Rinse cycle to add softener to water. Every time I added it to cup in middle of agitator, at the end of the wash there was softener all over the drum walls, dripping down the agitator and on the clothes because the machine doesn’t fill with water - even in the Deep Fill setting. I regret not keeping my 20 year old Viking washer...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but doesn’t match description/photos So far so good. I like the large drum and it is quiet (at least compared to our old beast). I like the clear lid and that the lid isn’t locked during the cycle (after it senses the load size). In saying that, it is not what I expected to receive. Home Depot should review the information they have posted for this product. I’ve attached a photo of the settings for those looking to buy this machine. The description and the close up photos of the settings/control panel on the website do not match the actual washer being sold. You are NOT able to select the load size. There is also no timed “auto soak” (30min, 1hr, 2hr) as shown in the photo gallery. I specifically bought this machine for those features so receiving something without either was disappointing. Currently Ontario is in a lockdown so we’re forced to shop completely online. So having an incorrect description and photos of a large appliance is frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointment Not the exact model we ordered. We wanted the one where we can select how much water, not just the auto sense (since I heard bad reviews, which are true: it never gives you enough water so you always have to do the fill button which takes more time and is only available for some wash options). Overall the clean on this washer is poor, my laundry has never been dirtier. The machine is very loud as it does a good job of ringing out all the water. Would not recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As close to "old school" as you can get I was on a hunt for an old school model that had water fill settings, etc. As it turns out, those do not exist anymore. I bought this washer because of it's "deep fill" button. I had watched a few YouTube videos to make sure deep fill, actually meant it. When I fill the drum up to the top with towels/ clothes etc, I select the "deep fill button," and the water will go about as high as 1 inch below the top holes in the drum. And guys, the drum is big. I have room even after putting in my king sized sheets and duvet cover. I've used it for about a month now and I really like it. I agree with other commenters, you have to read the manual. Always put your detergent in the bottom of the drum before your clothes so that it can dissolve in the water and start cleaning as soon as the washer begins agitating. There are some programs that don't allow "deep fill," and other programs that recommend it. If reading isn't your thing, look it up on YouTube for a review and a look at the different settings.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please don't buy this machine. Waste of money My wife and I bought this washer 1 year ago. The first time we used this washer, my wife complained about its results. The clothes came out with some spots of dirt and detergent on. I played the optimistic about the washer as we did not know how to use it. So, we decided to give a try. For 1 year usage, after trying all combination of setting, we still got the same results, with or without the "Deep fill" option. The above review from Kimp describes perfectly what we are experiencing with this washer. Frustrating. On top of that, 3 weeks ago, a water leak from this washer (see picture). GE customer services advised that the washer cannot be neither exchanged nor replaced. We have been asked to wait for a repair. They were not able to give an exact date. We are still waiting for it to be fixed. Please don't buy this so called High Efficiency washer from GE. Now, we don't know how to get rid of it. Find another brand and read carefully the low rating reviews. I realized they provided the truth on product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT an old school washer- leaks After extensive research and shopping I decided on this washer, hoping for an old school machine that was simple, tough and would get the clothes clean. We previously had a leaking GE but were promised the issue was resolved and we'd have a 2 year warranty on this one. So we bought this one with matching dryer for our new house. Unfortunately it's disappointed us after a little over a year. It rarely has enough water to cover the clothes and it leaks everywhere. We were told by HD that we'd have to go through GE for the warranty and after speaking with an appliance repairman family member he advised us to throw it out and move on. I always have the mop beside the washer and need to mop up at least 5 times per wash as I'm worried about ruining our floors while we wait for our new washer. Please don't be fooled and keep shopping, this washer broke my heart and isn't the old school machine I dreamed of.

Is there the option of choosing small medium large fill amounts? I hate these machines that choose for you. They never give enough water

Asked by: Vmpk
Hello Vmpk, Thank you for reaching out. For this unit, there is a Deep Fill option. Selecting the Deep Fill option with provided extra water if needed. To engage the Deep Fill feature; press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add an incremental amount of water to the wash load. Holding the Deep Fill button for 3 seconds will provide the deepest fill level possible; this will increase cycle time due to the additional time it takes to fill the washer. To cancel the option if desired, press the Deep Fill button again. Also to note, that the Deep Fill button can be pressed after the washer has completed filling and is in the wash phase if additional water is desired. To stop the extra fill, press the Deep Fill button again and the water will stop. -Thank you.

Yes, it has a soak feature, however we have never used it. I can't see the photo so I can't answer the panel question.
