The Broan-NuTone 641 Aluminum Wall Cap is a robust, easy-to-install vent for exhaust fans (bathroom, range hood, rec room, home gym, etc.). This cap provides reliable ventilation and features both a back draft damper and welded bird screen, preventing outside air from entering the home or birds and small pests from entering duct work. The back draft damper is spring loaded and features a padded damper zone, which reduce noise from wind induced chatter. Compatible with 6" ducting. Not suitable for dryer venting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpriced No foam at the back, so not airtight and overpriced. I could not find anything better. I personally don't like most products made by imperial and dundas jafine. I had to modify the vent, I removed the useless screen, I added two permanent magnets to keep it shut without the spring and two strips of steel for the magnets and I painted the whole thing white. Also the fact that there is not tailpipe is very inconvenient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good ! Better quality than the Imperial. Major difference is with the damper which has some kind of rubber seal to attenuate noise when it closes. Also it is not affected as much with wind. Just wish it would be offered in a painted version

Why is this item not suitable for dryer venting?
