My old and new HO fluorescent bulbs just flicker, so I presume it is the ballast. When I removed the ballast, it is hard wires to the bulb sockets. It is how they are purchased, or is splicing necessary?

    Asked by: Dave
Follow the wiring diagram on the new ballast.    Also described on U-tube.

Is it safe to install electronic balasts and T8 lamps with sockets designed for magnetic ballasts and tT12 lamps

Physically this can be done, however electronic ballasts have more starting power. The sockets may be subjected to higher open-circuit voltage than with magnetic ballasts.
    Asked by: Anonymous
It is safe; however we do recommend that the sockets are changed.
