Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great cost effective high capacity humidifier We use it on the low setting in our large master suite and it works great! I'm not sure that it can do a large of am area as it claims, but it is certainly very capable of humidifying larger spaces! My only criticism of the unit is that it is difficult to see the maximum fill line, and if you overfill it, it has a hope that will leak the water all over the floor!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap piece of junk The entire operation of this humidifier depends on a flotation switch which is made of light, cheap plastic and styrofoam, held in place by a flimsy clip, which must be threaded into the ill-fitting lid of the humidifier. Once the clip broke, it became impossible to position the flotation device in the mechanism, which must be done before the top is closed on the tank. Essentially the breaking of the plastic clip rendered the entire device useless, and I have no choice but to put it out with the trash. It didn't do much of a job while it was working, increasing the humidity in the room by a couple percentage points at most. Don't buy this piece of junk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Watch the Fill Line and Youre Good to Go Happy with this purchase. For the square foot coverage, it does a great job - it increased our apparently VERY low in-home humidity in a day and has kept it at consistent levels since then. The digital gauge is helpful to keep track of it all and adjust settings easily. Its also relatively quiet on lower settings but even at higher levels, provides a bit of ambient white noise. The main drawbacks of the design are two: 1) Filling up, you can't tell how full the humidifier is or where to stop - and fun fact, there is a HOLE - so if you go over, watch out because its a geyser. 2) The top kind of fits into the base and its not the easiest to align. Not hard at all, but it takes an extra minute - so removing the top to fill water and replace is more of a hassle than hoping you've filled enough blindly that it won't overflow. Otherwise, a great product and for the price especially, definitely recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Be careful, this one has some design flaws I bought this unit in September 2020 as I have a guitar collection, so humidification is super important in my home. I am still using the unit and I will write about the positives at the end of my review, but the negatives need to be covered first. The flaws -- The unit has a float switch which is supposed to shut the fan off when the unit runs out of water. It is poorly designed, improperly attached, improperly aligned and made out of the worst materials (styrofoam and a plastic rod) which don't end up working, so when the unit runs out of water, the fan will continue to run forever unless the humidity gets high enough for the humidistat to shut the unit off. This is a major issue. Next flaw - to prevent over-filling the unit, the back wall has a hole drilled in it , so if you put too much in, it starts streaming onto the floor. The unit needs a window so you can see the fill level to prevent this. As it is, I have to use an LED flashlight and shine it through the carcass to see the interior fill line. I have had to clean up two big messes because of this issue, which potentially could have damaged my home. Next flaw - The cheap plastic of the carcass, especially the top rim, is so thin at the juncture of the housing and bucket, it is guaranteed you are going to get cracks there. It is just a matter of time. The cracks don't impact the function of the machine, but when something costs around $200, should it be this cheap? OK, so positives -- The unit holds lots of water and distributes it properly. The filters last a good amount of time (2+ months in my case with daily operation), the simple design means it should probably last at least 3-5 seasons and the humidistat is accurate and functional. Final assessment. So, full disclosure, I purchased this at Home Depot from a clearance section because someone else had returned it because it came to them with a crack already in the top edge of the bucket where I have noted the plastic is way too flimsy. I paid around $130 for it with tax. Still, I would rather have better design than better price. So, if you need to add moisture to a large area, and if you are comfortable with all the management issues on this unit (won't shut off when empty, might drain all over your floor if you accidentally over-fill it) I can say it does the job, is simple enough to potentially last and is economical to operate. Would I buy another one. NO NO NO NO. I would not buy this unit again unless improvements are made to the design and quality of manufacture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent size and does my whole main level of my I bought this just over a week ago and I almost hesitated when I read some of the reviews. I am so glad I went with my gut and bought this humidifier. It is excellent and when I read other reviews that stated that it was noisy, I am not sure what one they are talking about this is NOT NOISY, in fact, it just sounds like the furnace running or the microwave. I absolutely love it and would advise anyone thinking of buying one, to purchase this one. We went through 6 gallons of water in a day and a half. It stays steady where we set it and it is a perfect size and it does my whole main floor in my home. I say this product is excellent!

my humidifier has water and red light STILL on unit 2 weeks old

Asked by: CHRISTINA
Without seeing it, I would think that the water bucket is not installed correctly or that the empty water switch is faulty. There also could be a problem with the float that tells the "water out light' to activate.

I am having trouble with understanding how the float rod is supposed to work. I understand that it is supposed to press on the metal strip/switch, but I can't seem to get the rod to align with the switch (yes, I kept the styrofoam piece). It's impossible to keep the rod in place when putting the top on, and you can't see if the rod is even close to the switch once the top is on. At this point I've just used a piece of tape to hold the switch down so that the unit will at least turn on, but I'd really prefer to utilize the automatic feature.

The float rod should clip into the inside back wall of the reservoir. There should be a clip that the rod slips into which helps it to stay in place as you line up the fan unit to place on top. Hope this helps.
