The Corentium Home by Airthings radon detector is a portable, lightweight radon measuring instrument that combines ease of use and accuracy. What is Radon Radon is a naturally occurring, radioactive gas that comes up from the ground and can accumulate to unsafe levels in the home. It is odorless, colorless and tasteless. Radon gas is in the air all around us and levels fluctuate daily. The good news is that a digital radon detector warns you when levels are getting high. Powered by 3 standard AAA batteries, the Corentium Home LCD digital display shows the first indication of your radon levels within 24 hours. Unlike radon test kits, there's nothing to send to a lab and no shipping fees. The Corentium Home radon gas detector displays daily, weekly and long term average radon levels allowing you to take action if there are unsafe levels of radon gas in your home. The Home Radon monitor is an essential tool to use when buying a house or selling a house and it also ensures a radon mitigation system is performing properly. Airthings devices have superior sensors to ensure that you can have a healthy home and breathe in clean air. The internal architecture of the Home radon monitor comes from advanced technology normally reserved for professional-grade detectors. Developed by particle physicists, our state-of-the-art radon testing sensor is incredibly accurate and requires no annual calibrations throughout its useful life, estimated at over 10 years.

  1. FIRST OF ITS KIND: The first battery-operated, digital radon detector. Monitor your home without the need for an outlet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfaite! Excellent produit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Accuracy of the Corentium Home Radon Detector I borrowed the same Radon detector from a neighbour and placed it into my basement. I was surprised that the radon readings were as high as they were so I decided to purchase my own and take readings in different parts of the basement. I placed it along side of my neighbour's detector in the basement and reset both units. After 3 weeks, I checked the readings on both detectors. There was about a 15% difference in the radon level readings between the two units for the 7 Day averages. The Long Term Averages had a difference of about 5%. His detector was a couple years old but they both had fresh batteries installed, mounted at the same height next to each other in the same room and were reset at the beginning of the 3 weeks. However, the detectors each displayed readings that were not acceptable and they are a valuable tool to determine if you require a radon mitigation system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, easy to use device This is the 2nd of these devices we have purchased for different homes and it is reliable, similar readings when set up beside 2nd device as well as when compared to the mail away Radon test.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I'm happy with this unit. Beats sending test kits in to a lab for reports. I was able to test numerous areas of my home. Readings were max 31, well below acceptable Canadian limit of 200, or US limit of 100. Now letting my kids do their homes. Off to my parents place next. This will end up a lot cheaper in the long term. I also like the scroll feature to check past readings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Device to have!! Bought and set up two months ago and checked every day. Gives daily, weekly and long term readings without the need to setup and send off a test kit - which requires a wait period to receive test results. This device can be used in almost any room, can be used to monitor short term fluctuations and provides a long term average based on readings over a year. Would highly recommend this device for anyone living in a house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works how you'd expect The device is simple and intuitive, and I really appreciate having a live readout. It's hard to track down the source of radon because levels fluctuate day-to-day, so if it were cheaper I'd buy two and put them in different rooms. There are holes on the back, so I'm not clear if you're supposed to stand it up so it can breathe, or lay it down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for any house, especially with basement So helpful to detect sources of Radon in the home. I was able to track and find a huge radon source under a bathtub where the crushed rock under the foundation was visible. Once I put it directly in the hole and I got a 2200+ reading... Scary. I filled the hole with foam and the radon levels went right down. It went from 400+ average to 80-90 in a day. I don't know how accurate the reading is but it is SO helpful to get some sense of the amount of radon. It was super helpful to bring this device around the house, into the bedrooms and other rooms to see the exact levels there. I usually left it there for a few days before interpreting the levels. I would highly recommend for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for peace of mind Works well. We used this to test a couple basements and found radon levels to be a bit high (75-105) and looked into keeping the space better ventilated. Good to have for peace of mind in high-radon areas! Apparently the longer you leave it at one location, the more accurate the reading. Having both short term and long term readouts are helpful. Only complaint is that the battery compartment is a bit finicky - accidentally reset the reading once or twice because the power cut off when I wasn't trying to remove the back panel.

how long do the batteries last and if there a low battery alarm or some type of indicator to let me know that the batteries need changing?

Asked by: Bull24
The batteries last longer than you should even need this product. If you have high radon, you should get a Radon Reduction system installed. If you have low Radon, you are fine, and don't need to continue monitoring. You need to monitor for several weeks over varying weather to get an average, and then thats really all you need this thing for. I bought mine almost two years ago, and it is still powered on, but I have not looked at it at since we installed a reduction system.

The Corentium Home made by Airthings does not have an Alarm. If you need an alarm, you should look for the Airthings Wave.

Is this product endorsed/recommended by the Canadian lung association or the Ontario lung association?

Asked by: Georgie
Not sure who recommends this product..but Radon is a source of lung cancer & not knowing the levels exposed one to that risk. Glad I got mine!

I got my airthing Radon detector. But after one day in basement, the detector shows 0 bq/m3. I am in Canada, I cannot believe the result. Is 0 possible?

Asked by: derrick
Long term is 0, and short term (1 day) is also 0. I am conacting the airthing support. Have not got response yet. I have a feeling I receive a malfunction one.
