The decorative onlays offered by the cabinet company cost 450 dollars! Instead, I bought two of these for less than 10 dollars. One was stained a red mahogany. The grain in this product is haphazard and didn't look great with the first application of stain, it required some dabbing and touch up to get it to look right. But it is now a close match at a WAY cheaper price. The second one I primed and painted, no issues. Highly recommend, but if staining, it will take some finesse to make it look right.

Can this be used for outdoors

Would use for garage peak

I wouldn’t recommend this for outdoors. It is a thin piece of birch that is unfinished. Even with a finish it would be difficult to seal it. I would look for a metal version.

Is this ready to be stain out of the package?

Thank you for your question and interest in our House of Fara 314 accent. For the most part this embossed applique is ready for clear-coating staining or painting. If their were any small imperfections that may not suit your desired look, the use of very fine sand paper might be needed to correct.

Would it be better to nail or glue it to the top panel of a screen door, or is there a better way to attach it?

Hi June! Thank you for your question. The 314 accent is designed for interior use, but when properly seal front back and sides with a good exterior sealer, it may be used in exterior application. As to best installation, we recommend good exterior glue along with the use of several brads to hold it in place. A free downloadable pdf installation guide is available on the Home Depot .com site for this product, which has helpful hints as well. We hope this helps in your decision to use our House of Fara products.
