Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product as expected, needs additional parts. Not clear from description that rain barrel comes with hardware for lower hose attachment, but nothing for the upper overflows. These need to be purchased separately or else the barrel will overflow if you have a heavy rain and the lower tap closed. Other than that as expected.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Agreed Madison 49 Gal. Rain Barrel I was happy for the 1st 4 weeks but then the Container developed a leak at the hose conception to the container. Upon inspection I noticed that the connecting plate was attached with a glue that was dripped around the plate. I will have to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the environment and good looking! I purchased the "Madison" because it doesn't look like a barrel. It is far more esthetically pleasing sitting on the side of the house then most other barrels offered. I also preferred the installation method. By leaving an open gutter, instead of threading the rain through a small tube your barrel is filled with a small amount of rain. My barrel is five years old. I did have to replace the spigot, but I think the lawn mowers ripped it off. I purchased a brass spigot and it was as easy as pie to replace. I also purchased a second barrel this year that has a pump. I connected the two barrels with a hose. I then attached a real hose to the top where it is suppose to act like a fountain and now I can water my flowers without having to haul water. I am in heaven. Water is expensive where I live so the cost of the rain barrel pays for itself in one year. With the second barrel hopefully I won't run out of water between rains this year.

Can I replace the hose with a spigot?

Hi HG, The since the design of this barrel tapers, the spigot would be pointing down on an angle. In addition the drain is very close to the bottom and would not have space for the spigot to work. Thank you, Alby@TeamAlgreen

Our rain barrels are made for polyethylene plastic. Yes, there are link kits available. please search for Algreen item number 81062 and 81055 for different options
