Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this garbage You are better off burning your money than buying this machine. Do not purchase this. I can not stress this enough. Came not functioning, won't drain and has a constant drip. Because it won't drain the sensor fill won't work preventing it from being able to run another cycle turning into a $600 paperweight. I was sceptical of the one star reviews, thinking there's no way that it can be that bad. It is that bad. I have no idea how a company could bring such a horrible product to market.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I thought washers were for CLEANING clothes? This is a review of the Amana top load washer NTW4519JW. I indicated the model mumber as, for some reason, the reviews on Home Depot also include dryers, dishwashers, and ranges for this washer. This unit replaces the NTW4516FW, which is a better washer and agitator but smaller tub (4.0 cu ft compared to 4.4 cu ft). I got it delivered on August 11/2023 and it replaced a 1993 Roper that simply way too small. The pros for this washer, so far, after 2 weeks of use is that it has a very nice large tub and is cosmetically pleasing. It is also reasonably quiet. And hasn't snagged any clothes like my old washer. But only two cycles are worth using -Heavy and Bulky and both with Deep Water Wash. Auto Sensing is useless in this particular washer for my needs. The cons: 1) It will never clean as well as that 1993 Roper washer it replaced due to water level limitations. You could see the dirt in the water in the the Roper, but the Amana just doesn't have the same cleaning power. For the first time ever, the bright hand knitted dish towels came out dirty after a deep wash and deep rince. Been using the same detergent for many years, (HE) and can't believe how dirty these dish towels came out. My partner asked if they were bleached. Haven't used bleach in this machine. They just come out dirty. 2) The drain hose that comes with it is too short if your stand up pipe or tub is on the opposite end of the washer drain. I had to purchase an extension. Note: Do NOT use any other drain hose except for the included one when hooking to the drain on the washer. I hooked up my old one and had a major leak. Universal hoses do not fit from my experience. (Interesting that all the towels that sopped up all the water from the leak had the best wash as the washer sensed they were heavier than if thrown in dry and the water filled past the towels) 3) Even perfectly level there was a rattle during spin cycle. I managed to stop that rattle by putting a block of wood between it and the wall. Now it's quiet during spin. 4) “Set the Water Level knob to the Deep Water Wash setting and the washer automatically adds more water to any cycle at any time during the wash process”. In other words you are limited to what the washer considers deep water wash which is usually just a bit over the clothes. YOU CANNOT MANUALLY REGULATE THE AMOUNT OF WATER. However, Deep Water Wash definitely outperforms any Auto Sensing cycle. I noticed with auto sensing that the water level only goes about 60% of the clothes so the top clothes don't get a good cleaning but Deep Water with Heavy cycle goes about 85%. 5) Adding clothes to the washer, once the water level has finished and the cycle begins, will not clean those items just added (see photo of black item added after the cycle began) 6) You cannot change cycles once the the washer starts. For example, when I realized the washer was leaking (my fault) I quickly switched it from Heavy Load to Drain and Spin and it did nothing. I had to cancel the cycle it was on (no led lights showing), then switch it to drain and spin. Follow the instruction book as a lot of the “cycles” were not what I expected such as bulky items having the least cleaning power. If it was at all possible to return this machine, I would. What I don't understand is that in May of 2018, I bought a Maytag MVWC465HW at my old house and it worked great, even with boarders in the house! So why is this Amana (same company) so bad?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not capable to do the job This wash machine (NTW4519JW) was delivered to me on August 10 and it had exactly the same issue as described in BLJBLJ's review, the clothes ended up in dirty after washed. Contacted Client support and it wouldn't help any. Totally waste of money. BTW previous one Amana NTW4516FW worked but only last 4 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy. Hate it. The water does not even cover the clothes, and that is going to clean them? I am so disappointed in this purchase. I will likely buy a new washer because I hate it so much and I will take this directly to the dump as I can’t even give it to someone it’s so bad. Don’t buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amana a great brand Easy to use I love my new washer and dryer and I would recommend it to who ever is looking for one. Nothing computerized and it is easy to use and read the instructions before you use it . I love them both.
