I really want this product to work so hopefully my constructive criticism will help. First the concept of the product is excellent. Laminated EPS foam glued to a magnesium oxide board. The magnesium oxide board is approximately 1" off the foam in in the x and z plane allowing for the following panel to interlock. The foam has a silver heat laminated waterproof membrane. There are perpendicular channels on the underside of the foam allowing for a space for moisture, bulk water, and ventilation. This product is also less expensive than Dr. Energy saver panel which can only be purchased from a dealer. Where things need to be improved is in the manufacturing and shipping of the product. I had to reorder the product 3 times to due to either damage during shipping or having the product shipped to me with a tapered edge cut into the long side of the magnesium panel which I did not specify, want, or need. I've had several panels where the magnesium oxide panel separated from the foam panel due to failure of the glue. I had multiple panels where the silver membrane was inconsistently applied to the foam resulting in incomplete coverage. I contacted the sale representative of Amdry, Howard Cohen, and he was good at getting back to me and great at answering questions. I think with just a few changes in quality inspection and shipping this is going to be an awesome product that I will definitely order again. For now, if I were to reorder, I would order as much as 60% more of what the project called for, pick out the panels that weren't damaged or defective and return the rest. Amdry, Please get it together and make this panel and your shipping deserving of 5 stars!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally waterproof product Using this product to raise the floor in the basement storage closet. It gives me 2" height above the cement floor in case of basement dampness or flooding. Although this tile version of this product is waterproof it does not make the room storage area waterproof, it just give me height above the floor. I left some unused pieces outside in the rain for a couple of weeks and they kept their integrity, solid, no decomposition, and dried out nicely. Some if the 2'x4' boards (50%) were warped requiring tapcons (2 per board) to secure them flat according to instructions that did not take well; the tapcons would not grip the concrete floor pilot hole. I avoided using tapcons after the first board, so some of them had a 1/8" warp in the center that I did not care too much about as the installation was in a storage closet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install. Great company! This product is the perfect solution for inorganic basement flooring - to avoid mould. It's resistant, durable and easy to install. Plus the manufacturer (Amvic) is excellent in customer service. They will go out of their way to help you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product I installed this product in my basement bathroom along with the R7 wood panels in the rest of the basement. The issue I had with this product was how they connected. It is just hardy board over the top of Styrofoam. So screws are not going to do anything. Most of the boards were a little crowned so they did not sit completely flat on floor. I glued the panels to the floor as well as to each other with a Styrofoam approved adhesive. I also used a thin set that is suppose to flex to prevent cracking. I used mesh tape on the joints and lastly used an epoxy grout to make sure I didn't have any tiles pop or have grout crack. Very happy with the wood panels as well. Basement is much warmer.

Does this really glue down flat?

I am considering this product for the tiled portion of my basement. In watching an installation video, there appears to be issues with the glue overlap having a ridge (possible due to thickness of glue) and corners popping (requiring a screw to flatten it out). Ideally you want to tile over a fully flat surface. Would it be better to use the Amdry OSB product (which installs flat) and throw down a water proof uncoupling membrane or even a 1/4" backer board then tile?

The Amdry Tile is designed specifically for ceramic and stone tile application. you may yes get edges that may be up or down a few millimeters but this is mainly because of existing floor. Regardless when laying tile you should.be using a half inch mortar trowel which will seat your tiles well and make up for any unevenness in the panel joints. more important is that you walk the finished glued panels before any tiling once the PL300 joint glue us dry and if there is any monet in your floor panels you must anchor that are firmly with a concrete screw (not too tight and always at lest 3 inches from any edges.) we have hundred of installs and I have yet to have any issues with raised joints. good luck Howard Cohen
