Rated 2 out of 5 by from The product is not good as the original: Thinner metal and low cut threads. The build is not as good as the original: thinner metal and the thread is not deep. The quality of American Standard product is not good any more.

are the water exposed parts rust and corrosion proof ? are the parts plastic or metal ? In normal use, how long is this replacement going to last, and is it warranted against wear and tear ?
Asked by: mike
mike, The parts on this particular drain are metal and can rust. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

The cap to the stopper in the drain disappeared and I have no idea what style the faucet and drain are. I purchased it 6 years ago and I don't have the receipt anymore. Are the drains standard size? I was thinking of purchasing one to see if it fits.

Asked by: Anonymous
Anonymous, Yes, a typical bath drain is 1.25". A good one to try would be the M953450-0020A for a standard drain. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

I purchased this to replace an older American Standard drain assembly.  The pipe diameter is the same, but the overflow holes on the new drain assembly are almost twice as tall so it doesn't fit.  How do I find a correctly fitting replacement?

Asked by: CSPS
CSPS, . Please contact us directly through the American Standard website “Contact Us” located at the bottom of our home page. We will need to know the model number of the faucet so we can see which drain will fit with it. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

I have an older wall mounted sink manufactured ~1971. This model looks essentially identical to what I have. Do you have a specification sheet? What is the diameter of the drain part that goes the the sink hole? Length of the entire drain piece?

Asked by: Brenda44
Hello, Thank you for reaching out to the American Standard Consumer Connection Team. The overall length of the drain is 8", this has a standard 1.5" tailpiece. Had to discard white plastic disk that sits against white ball on pivot arm to get it to screw in. Is this normal? Now I notice the drain won't stay closed and falls back to open position. White disk was covering the threads so couldn't scrw cap on.
