Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bowl cracked after 8 months I was so excited when I had saved up enough money to do some minor renovating to the bathroom in my condo and found this pretty little toilet. I was so pleased with it. After 8 months, it has a crack in the bowl. I am a female of average weight and the only person who uses this toilet. Nothing was dropped on it. From what I have researched, my only option is to replace the toilet and it will certainly not be with another American Standard product. This is my first review of anything, ever, but I wanted to warn people to please not purchase this unless you have money to throw around for a new toilet once a year. I work as a caregiver and I know that I do not. Bitterly disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tank cracked Bought this toilet in April 2017, found hairline crack in front of tank in April 2018, and water leaking on floor. Contacted Home Depot and they wouldn't cover tank replacement as it was 10 days past warranty period. Tried to contact American Standard by phone. Impossible to get through to anyone and after being on hold for nearly an hour, sent them an email and waiting for response. Obviously flaw in materials to cause crack and thought someone at Home Depot could have helped me but was told to contact American Standard. I've decided to replace toilet with a different brand and will never purchase another American Standard product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and Sturdy! It's a nice sturdy toilet and clears everything with one flush as advertised. Installing was not hard but make sure to buy the flex tube to connect the toilet to the water main, as this is not part of the package. Delivery from Home Deport was fast and prompt. We purchased 3 and after using them for about 2 months, my opinion is "very good", but the "ever clean" statement is slightly overstated. It needs cleaning at least every 4 weeks, especially above the water level where it forms a ring mark (which is expected anyway). Overall this is an excellent purchase and I would recommend!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointed, hit and miss flush After one month it has become clear that there is something not right with this toilet. First you must hold the handle down to make it flush. Sometimes it flushes like a champ and you hear it which sounds like a commercial toilet. Other times it sort of flushes but doesn’t make that sound and little bits of paper are left. We had it professionally installed and at first the chain in the back of toilet was to long to flush when the lid was on. Once that was fixed we experimented with flushing a toilet bowl full of paper and it worked every time. It seems to be a hit and miss thing. I can’t recommend this toilet. We ended up with a Krohler for the other washroom.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Read The Reviews and Watch The Youtube Videos I rarely write reviews but for the sake of others, decided to write one. Less than 2 months in, the ghost flushing has already started because the gasket that comes with the toilet is of poor quality. Tiny bubbles form on the underside which causes a bad seal / leakage. Calling American Standard for warranty purposes is futile since not once has my estimated time been less than 60 minutes. I'll just pay out of pocket and buy a replacement gasket kit myself. Hopefully this solves the problem. Otherwise, if I have to call a plumber in again to change my toilet, this will end up being one of the most expensive toilets on the market.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Purchased 3 Champion 4 toilets and on is cracked Just over a year ago I purchased 3 of these toilets to upgrade existing ones in the home. Within a year two of the bowls have cracked; one below the water line. Trying to contact American Standard Canada Customer Service is difficult at best and registering on-line sends the e-mail to American Standard in the United States who do not forward it back to American Standard Canada. Avoid the hassle and purchase a different product as this one has become a pain because of poor Customer Service.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't clear bowl with one flush Nice looking toilet, quick flush, and the tank does refill quickly. But the water sits very low, stuff sticks to the sides, and more often than not it takes two or three flushes to clear the bowl. Very disappointing for a toilet that wasn't cheap and was so highly rated. Also, it has the worst handle I've ever seen on a toilet. Cheap, ugly, and uncomfortable to use, it has to be replaced. It's like they planned that to sell you a handle separately, but I won't be buying one from American Standard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor service I bought this toilet a week ago. We installed it following the manual and everything went well, we thought. The next day I noticed that there was water around the bolts that attach the tank to the base. We tried tightening the bolts but every time the toilet was flushed, the bolts were weeping water. I checked the back of the tank and noticed that the back, under the base was also wet. Surfing the net I found a site that said there were problems with the flush valve gasket leaking on this model. I called American Standard and was told by, Violet, that we probably installed it wrong and we would have to pay for any replacement parts. She was cold, Not sympathetic and offered no solution. She said it was our problem. I will Never, Never buy American Standard again.

Is the tank is lined to reduce condensation?

We bought this toilet and the installation went well but when completed, we used little paper towels taped at strategic points to detect leakages. All was good except for one spot where the fresh water tank meets the bowl (under flush handle). Solution?

Asked by: Helend
Sounds like the flush tank did not seat properly when mounting it to the bowl. I don't recall exactly, but I'm thinking there must be a gasket where these two components meet, or where the bolts fasten each component to the other...to ensure a tight, leak-proof seal. Though it's a nuisance, the flush tank is designed to be removable, so take it off and inspect the gaskets, and ensure there are no weird, misshapen edges to either the bowl or flush tank where the two components meet. If necessary, install a new gasket, and carefully reinstall the flush tank. There's not much more to cause the leak other than 1) a faulty installation, 2) a damaged gasket, defectively shaped flush tank or bowl interface (where the flush tank and bowl connect), or 4) unequal tension on the bolts that hold the flush tank in place. If one is looser than the other...you could get a leak. I'm going from memory...don't repair toilets all the time...trying to be helpful...but no guarantee.

What causes my brand new Champion 4 toilet installed less than a month ago to run for a few seconds then stop. This goes on every 10 to 15 minutes? Should I be concerned?

Asked by: Shirley Parrot
There is a vertical black tube on the right. If the water is set too high in the tank it will overflow into that tube. The adjustment is on the left.

What is the size of water supply line do I use for this toilet. There is water leak on water supply line connection when I installed it.

Asked by: James071
Hello James071, This toilet uses a standard 7/8" connection at the fill valve to the toilet. Is the leak from the supply line itself or at the connection from the supply line to the tank connection? For further assistance, please contact our Consumer Connections Department, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm EST @ 1-855-836-9615 and speak to an Adviser who can assist you further. Hi. Does this toilet have a fully glazed trapway?

Asked by: Anna
From what I can see, it does. The rich glazing makes it easy to clean, which is always nice.
