Rated 5 out of 5 by from You MUST NOT strong arm this set This set requires finesse and tactile feedback when installing. These are not the set of old where it forgave you if you overtorqued some fittings. The old brass units are long gone replaced with plastic. IF you pay attention and KNOW that this unit will accommodate the thickness of plasterboard and tile, AND NOTHING ELSE it will be OK for you. Please note you will have to purchase the pipe fittings (1/2 inch NPT tow female and two male. The old ones had fittings installed already. People this is 2019 and you dont get 1960's quality anymore. I gave it 5 stars because it is nearly impossible to find 3 valve tub faucets anymore. Everyone wants the single handle version. Oh please take me back to 1960........

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Run from this faucet! I've gotten 7 years of use from this "lifetime" product. I'm a pretty handy gal but having to tear this apart and replace it so soon for a family of 2 irritates me. The parts in my Home Depot box included a plastic extender to get from the rough in to the ceramic tile and a very long (3"} self-tapping screw to connect the handle adapter (plastic) to the so-called "ceramic" valve (it is plastic, referred to as "Material: Other"}. I believe over time the screw has destroyed the 1/4" of thread it created in the valve so each time we use the handle, more of the thread is eroded and now the handle has to be turned 270 degrees to shut off the water. Woof Woof! This is a dog.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from More for you to consider I called the American Standard customer service line today about this HD shower faucet. No help from her and very close to a "better save your receipt next time" attitude. I asked the cost of plastic replacement innards plus the 3" self-tapping screw that constitute the stem extension: $30 per faucet! Be aware that if you purchase this item, you be tied to HD and Am Stand forever; there are no standard replacement parts for these big box versions of faucets. Be aware, too, that after posting my previous review, I received an email from American Standard. How did they get my email???

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware Shortly after professional installment, two valves (adapters) failed, replaced by the company. The valves are made of plastic, not ceramic as told by the company. The plastic quickly deterioratres, so that funcion is compromised and the handles continue to keep turning. Therefore, the fine tuning promised as "flawlessly" is also compromised.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy it. Agreed, this thing is a piece of junk. Was looking for a replacement for it when I came across the other review. Much of the "insides" are plastic and are guaranteed to fail.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor quality. Returned to store I thought this was a bargain until it arrived. The parts were of very poor quality, some plastic. We decided to return it and go with something else.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty But Not Durable Installed this 3-handle set during a complete bathroom renovation in December 2010. On the exterior, it is an attractive design but I 100% agree with other reviewers that complain the handles have cheap internal plastic parts that don't hold up to even minimal use. These fixtures are in a bathroom used only by a senior woman who takes 1 shower per day so they would definitely not hold up long at all if there were multiple people showering daily. Today (Feb 13, 2015) makes the 3rd time I've called American Standard to get replacement handles after the plastic "innards" of the handles break, which renders the handles useless. (I've had a total of 6 handles break.) The manufacturer has been good about sending replacement handles for free under the warranty but today, for the first time, I was told that the next time I will need my purchase receipt to get replacements--which is probably how they get out of replacing a lot of parts that should be covered under warranty, since most people don't save their receipts. Fortunately, I do still have the receipt but if I get any hassles the next time I need to order replacement handles, receipt or not, I will likely replace with something made by the "Buy it for looks...buy it for life" company. In summary, if you do decide to buy this set, be prepared to replace handles frequently. Save your receipt so you can obtain replacements for free under the warranty.
