Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've installed 9 of these in the last 18 months or so. Tightening it to the sink isn't too hard, ... I've installed 9 of these in the last 18 months or so. Tightening it to the sink isn't too hard, just make sure you do it tightly. Some like using a tool but I don't care to buy a tool just for that. I always use plumber's putty. Be sure to read the instructions to know where the gaskets go. You also need that white piece before attaching the drain nut or it'll leak. Sometimes with cheaper sink drains, tightening the nut and the drain pipe to the sink drain is the problem. They cut it too tight and it won't tighten. I've never had that problem with the 9 American Standard drain, but did with another brand. It'll last you 20+ years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did have a licensed plumber install the drain - he said the quality was excellent I love the construction of the strainer basket. Excellent metal quality and really works well to keep scraps out of the drain. I highly recommend this product - would purchase again, but do not think it would wear out in my lifetime - I am very pleased with this program.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kitchen Sink Drain with Strainer in Stainless Steel is identical to the one in my 40 year old kitchen sink. In fact, I didn't have to replace the drain, but only needed to replace the strainer. The original one had broken at some point and had been replaced by a generic one with a rubber stopper built in on the bottom of it. That one had also broken and needed to be replaced as well. The strainer (what I call the stopper) helps prevent food from going down the drain. I gave it 4 stars because it doesn't always seal on the first try, and I have to jiggle it until it does.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quality and durable constructions Has a good stainless steel shine and is easy to keep clean in the sink using normal cleaners. Easy to install once you get under the sink. Seals very well around drain in sink with the use of plumbers putty I would recommend this item. even for the beginner to install with some oversight. Note this drainer comes in Stainless Steel and other varieties including brushed nickel.
