Rated 2 out of 5 by from Is it really worthed? Looks great but handle assemblies gave up within year and half. Had to buy flimsy plastic adapters so that handles can turn on-off. Cheap plastic. Still working on it as it is not so-easy to remove, as advertised, without incurring damage and knicks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from tough maintenance These lasted about 8 years and looked nice. Handles finally got so hard to turn they had to be replaced. But handle assembly would not unscrew from deck adapter. Had to use a Dremel to cut handles off. Replacment handles are $50 each which seems high. This was a nice faucet while it lasted but I did not like the design of how the handle was connected. My next faucet will be different.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from plastic pieces don't last I have been happy with the look and finish of this product, however, the "guts" wear out quickly. Thankfully, AS will replace the part for free, but the sink is out of service until the part arrives. Next time, no plastic.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great, but handles eventually strip and spin We have 6 of these faucets in our 7 yr old home. I am now an expert on replacing the inside of the faucets. The black plastic adapter that goes over the cartridge fits inside the faucet handle which is metal. I have had to get parts and replace parts 9 times. I love the look, but I can't figure out who in their right mind puts a plastic piece around a metal post and doesn't think the plastic groves will eventually wear away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from deceptively delicate The house we just bought came with 5 (five!) of these faucets, one in each bathroom sink. The first week we moved in, I saw what I thought was some lime scale building up at the base of one of the faucets. Since it didn't come off with multi-surface cleaner, I got out my Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. BIG MISTAKE!!! HUGE!!! One minute of Mr. Clean took the finish right off the faucet. I know the faucet has a lifetime warranty on the finish, and I can probably take it back and get a replacement, but who is going to reimburse me for the time and hassle of re-installing another? These are WAY more fragile than the price or warranty would lead you to believe, and now I'm stuck with five faucets that need a ridiculous amount of TLC. My recommendation is to keep looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent looking and functioning rubbed bronze faucet This faucet looks excellent and works flawlessy. It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. I purchased a cheap $120 rubber bronze faucet and the cold valve had a constant drip and the hot cheap plastic supply hose blew off. The hoses that come with this are stell braided and have nice metal threaded ends. Do it once and buy the best one. This one is guaranteed for life on finish and functionality. Also, the stopper uses a cable linkage which provides effortless operation going up and down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faucet shine I purchased this faucet because of the way it looked. When it was installed I was very pleased at how easy the faucet works and how nice it shines. This faucet cleans like a charm. I have no complaints. I am glad that I purchased the faucet.

It appears that the handle assembly is all one piece, unlike most faucets where the handle comes off separate from the piece that covers the faucet mechanism. Is this correct? If so, how can I get the handle assembly off if there isn't enough room to turn it without the handle hitting the back splash, so I can't turn it the whole way around to unscrew it?
Asked by: Joe (who is not THE PLUMBER)
The handle is all one piece and doesn't come off. You may be able to unscrew from the bottom and adjust it so you can remove it. However, it was installed I would try to follow that direction.

I may have this faucet. I purchased it 20+ years ago and it has been leaking for a while from the bottom of the "bell" between the "bell" and the sink. I have removed the two set screws from the handle but am not able to remove the "bell" to get to the workings to replace the seal. How do I do this without damaging the "bell"?

The handle on these 8 inch faucets does not engaget the threads on the valve spline. Your adapter 918049 does not reach high enough into the handle to grab the splines. The deck adapter M962248-007A piece stops the threads of the valve casing from being able to come thru any higher to adjust the handle so more threads can engage the spline. What is the cure for this?
Asked by: Anonymous
Please see section 10 on page 4 of the installation instructions. The splined end of the handle adapter (#1) should be facing down. This will allow the adapter to sit higher allowing the handle to grasp the adapter's outer splines.
