Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective item Bought this door in the midst of covid -- hired a contractor to install it in the dead of winter. First time I rolled down the screen, it came away from the door - appears that the strip on the door that holds the screen in place had not been secured. Fast forward through two subsequent lockdowns in which no returns were allowed.... till now. So I have to rehire a contractor to remove the door, return it to the store, and reinstall a new one. If you're considering buying this door, be sure to try out the screen first - I doubt I got the only one that wasn't put together properly! Good product IF it holds together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought three, installed one so far The installation was relatively easy and the instructions are easy to follow. The only rub for some may be the absence of a 7/16” drill bit - everything else is included. The door operates smoothly as it should but we are finding the screen mechanism and sliding upper panel are difficult to latch closed after only two days of operation. It’s a bit flimsy so I’m not comfortable being too rough pushing it up from the inside. Not expected to have to do but I’ve managed to latch it by pushing the window up from the outside. I’ve seen reviews complaining about the durability of the screen mechanism so I guess we’ll see how it holds up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great and easy to use screen system Looks great and come with the door handle. Harder to install then stated on the site and box. Took 7 hours with 2 people and YouTube. One of the people had house building experience! Our house is old which I am sure added some time, but the instructions (especially for hinging the door) were not clear. The self storing screen option is convenient and easy-to-use. In time I plan on buying buy a second one. Performance I give the door 5 stars, Installation instructions I give three. That is the thought behind my overall rating of 4 stars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buyer beware leaking opening mechanisms Have had this door nearly a year. Screen detached within 10 minutes of install. Warranty service on that was great. New part received quickly and works well. HOWEVER since day 1, the opener ram/cylinder has leaked a large amount of grease. It would coat the door frame within a few days, causing it to be tracked through the house, and frankly was a slipping hazard. Customer service claims there is no grease in it and that this is not covered under warranty. Tried for several months to get what was then just an annoying issue at least acknowledged. They even refused to see photos. After nearly 7 months the door opener/closer ram ceased to hold the weight of the door, causing the door to slam dangerously. Precisely what happens when leaky rams finally fail. Gave up and bought a different brand of universal ram and the door operation is greatly improved. Here’s a photo of the grease that does not exist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some things to know… I would like to start by sharing that the measurements in your website are confusing. The icon shows 36 inch, and in the specs it shows 32 inch. My installer spent over three hours installing, and I had to get a new person come to raise it up a little so next time I would go with an experienced installer. Other than that, I love the door and the convenience of the upper screen (which is very stiff to start.) The foot opener thing is convenient too. Oh, and I find the handle a bit to close to the door jam, I’ve been pinched a couple times already.

Does it have a lever handle on both sides? If not can the handle be changed out?

Yes the handle has a lever on both sides, its a very nice handle, very good quality. Not a cheap handle at all.

The measurement of the space we need to fit the storm door is 33 !/2 x 79 1/4. We had someone come to look at the entry and he said a door that is 80 won't fit.

If your exterior door is a standard 80” door, this storm door Will fit your opening. These types of doors all normally come standard height it’s just a matter of finding your width. This is why the height isn’t provided in the headline of each door item because it’s usually the same! These doors do have forgiveness of approx. 1/4” either way if I remember correctly. I’ve installed these multiple times on customers homes. If you have a custom exterior door or live in an older home like a victorian where the exterior doors can very in size both height and width then research should be done prior to purchase. Heads up: The instructions are horrible to understand (maybe that’s just me as I don’t need to use them).  If you do not have all of the proper tools, do not have patents, and are not good at following instructions then I would suggest hiring a contractor or someone with experience in installing these as this project isn’t a walk in the park.

We have two of these doors - two years old. On one them the screen is pulling away from the latch and this feature is not over used. Is this something that is covered under warranty
