Rated 2 out of 5 by from Retainer strips for Anderson W 3000 very poor Bought this door in the spring and had it installed by a pro. The door itself is OK but the retainer strips to hold either the full height screen or glass window in place are garbage! They are made of cheap plastic and WILL NOT flex at all. I did speak to a representative at Anderson and they agreed to send me a set of replacement strips at no cost that were apparently more flexible.To use them for the glass window, I cut off about 3/4 inch on the long vertical pieces so that the strips would not rest on the top and bottom frame of the glass window and that allowed the strips to snap in quite easily. Cross strips also worked after that. For all that trouble, I wouldn't recommend this door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Double 3000s Fullview with Astragal I don't think many people realize that this is available? My only wish was that the 4000 series was available to do this? The 3000s are good but a bit of a pain to swap out the glass and screens...fiddly plastic inserts. I have yet to figure out if the door handles could be flipped so the left and right are the same? Other than that I am very happy with the end result not to mention the new air flow into our home.

Based on the number of complaints I have read about this issue, Andersen really needs to redesign this door rather than advising their customers on using the hair dryer or hot water to solve the problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from misinformation is so annoying-handles not included I love the door, but it is unfortunate that the webite for this door talks about the handle kit, the instruction manual identifies the handle kit as part of the list of materials but the handle kit is not included. Please note that I might have even wanted to select my handle but did not because one was included. I just need to know that before I purchased it and had the installer come to install the door. This is what the website says regarding the handle. 'TarnishGuard protective coating on the brand and nickel handle set helps maintain their genuine beauty for years, oil rubbed bronze handle set is a natural finish designed to wear beautifully over time'. What in this statement indicates a handle set is not included? I've purchased other things were it identified install kits or such were not included clearly and that is not a problem to me at all but I had the information required to do the job. When I called Anderson customer service they were less than accommodating and helpful and seem more interested in registering the ownership of the door than doing anything about the misinformation. Now to be fair upon close examination of the box of the door it did state that the handle kit was not included. But hey I bought it online and reviewed the specifications and install guide before purchase and did not have access to the door. And with curbside pick up the door was loaded into the vehicle without any chance to see it. Not a great practice. Update the information and installation guide posted on your product to make it clearer so folks know. Home Depot on the other hand did their best to at least understand the situation and try to help me out.

When ordering there is no provision to request a right hand or left hand hinged door.  Are they interchangeable

What is the difference between the Anderson 3000 Series model # 26557Fullview Storm Door and the Anderson 3000 Series model # 26556 Self-storing Fullview Storm Door?

The fullview have interchangeable fullview glass and screen for seasonal ventilation, while the self-storing have ventilating window and retractable insect screen for anytime ventilation. Andersen and EMCO storm doors are intended to improve the look of your home and your energy bill. A storm door from Andersen or EMCO can improve the energy efficiency of your entrance. The intended purpose or function of a storm door is to reduce the exposure of an entry door to the elements.
