Rated 5 out of 5 by from All good installs in a snamp. no cutting. adjusted to my door width. we are planning to get another one for the main door but all these types of units have one caveat I believe. The frame narrows the width of the doorway by about 1 inch. Only an issue if u plan on squeezing in a couch purchase, fridge etc. So depending on your doorframe and fridge size do the measurements first. In a pinch you can remove the screen assembly . But did it call for caulking underneath the frame? I forget. It was actually my 14 year old grandson who took the lead in reading and following the instructions . It literally took 15 minutes to install once you had familiarized yourself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Manufacturing flaw! I bought this just under two years ago. Loved the function etc. Caution when opening that you let the door open on its own. If you push it you will have problems. This spring when I tried to open it the tube holding the mechanism broke and the spring mechanism fell out the bottom. Thought there would be no problem with warranty as it said that it covered it for five years limited, but outline that the spring mechanism was covered. When I spoke with Anderson they told me I had installed it incorrectly. It seems to me the integrity of the mechanism should stand on its own, however it failed. Warranty appears to be only worthwhile as a selling feature, but has no validity in actuality. Very dissappointed in their warranty and the integrity of the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great product subject to a caveat I purchased this Andersen rolling screen door to replace a different designed one by another manufacturer. Make sure you measure your door opening height carefully. I almost bought the 80 inch model until I realized our door opening is 78 inches. Andersen makes 3 different heights but the 78 inch had to be special ordered. Delivery took 4 weeks. Before assembly I had to cut the upper and lower rails to fit the opening. It was only an inch per side and fairly easy to cut with a hacksaw. Installation wasn't difficult. I'd suggest a test fit followed by marking the holes and pre-drilling before installation. In operation, the door works very well. Easy to open and close with one hand. My caveat is this. The latch and lock mechanisms are plastic. I have doubts about their durability. Parts can be ordered on Andersen's website but it would be nice if they used alloy parts. The door is fairly easy to install.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless Absolute rubbish, screen had become sluggish after 8 months, top section of net was already tearing apart after 18 months. Don't tell me I don't know how to fit it, been there and done that, installed all sorts of stuff but this takes the biscuit. Let's see how many others conned by this garbage find out the truth in time. Thank God I only bought one, nearly made the mistake to buy one for the front door at the same time. The thought of having to replace this expensive mess in the very near future is depressing, certainly will not be a product from Andersen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased So easy to install, and it works great. So much nicer than a screen door. Love that it has a lock. Just don't push the screen to retract, let it roll up on it's own. So far we are very happy with it. We have noticed that it makes the overall opening of the doorway a bit smaller, so that could be problematic in the future when/if bringing in or carrying out large pieces of furniture. But if that is the case, there are only six screws that need to be removed in order to take it off the doorway, so no big deal - will be much easier than removing a whole screen door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this screen door!!! I have this screen door on my front door and loved it so much, I bought another for my back porch door. I LOVE the door but I would urge anyone that is going to purchase one to be sure to read the fine print...as in the "assembled size". I measured my door several times (height and width) to be sure and when I saw 80" on the box, I thought "perfect". What I didn't see until I had all four corners together was that it is actually 81" assembled and therefore wouldn't fit on my back door so.... the door itself is GREAT, please be sure to read ALL of the measurements before assembling the door and trying to mount it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pros and Cons Our prior Seiki Vista screen, in place 10 years, was destroyed by a teenager running through it. Bought this instead. Returned it after reviewing several issues. Pros Excellent instructions Easy set up and installation. Looks like sturdy design Cons The configuration and size of your door sill will change a lot. There is track for the screen that is about 1" high all along the sill, inclined smoothly on the exterior only. There is also 2 brackets that extend about 4" from the uprights onto each side of the sill. So your 36" sill will contract to about 28" at its base because of these brackets. In contrast, the Seiko Vista sill has a 1/4" track and no brackets, though the latter's installation looks more difficult.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing I installed this door on Saturday and it is now Thursday. Installation was very easy and I was thrilled with the door for the first few days. Then I noticed the bottom screen had come out of the track and the next day the top was out too. Now it struggles to retract because the screen is loose and bugs can get in. Disappointed as I really loved this door when first installed and we only got about 3 days of proper use out of it.

The screen came out of the rail from top and bottom , how can I fix it ?

Asked by: Heba
You can’t. It’s damaged and needs a replacement screen from Andersen. I’ve replaced 2 already. Terrible product. Try and get your money back. Not made for Canadian cold winters

my doorway is 79 inches high from floor to the bottom of the door jamb... will this size door work?

Asked by: Anonymous
It won't fit. You can order one designed for a 78" opening. Add in a 1x1 nailing strip on the top of your opening and it will work.

Hi does this screen door have a lockable latch?

Asked by: TaviDan
The latch is just a trigger lock. Push up or down and it opens. When you slide it shut it patched nicely. You can’t put a padlock on it or anything like that.

I bought this Andersen retractable screen door on June 12 .... and on Aug 18th, the plastic base pieces that holds the spring pins in place cracked and rendered the screen door useless. I have photos to present. Please advise who to contact.

I have a door that swings outward. Can I install this product on the inside?

Asked by: Darcy
It would be facing the inside of your house, mounted on inside of door jam or casing. If you wanted to put it facing outside you would need to build a frame in the jam for it to attach to . Also you would need a 2x6 jam so there would be room to build the frame.

Can it be installed on patio door that slides to open ? Current screen is on wheels and it slides to the other side.

Asked by: Hana001
Probably not. What you need is a solid door frame on both sides of the opening (36 inch or so) that the frame of the new screen door is screwed onto. Your sliding patio door probably only has a solid door frame on one side, so this product probably won't work for you.
