Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed in this door I bought and installed this door about 4 months ago. The assembly and installation was easy with the supplied instructions. The installed door looks good but that is where the goodness of this product ends. The springs that retract the screens are not strong enough. When you unlatch the door or doors, they open VERY slowly. If you try to speed the opening of the door up, the screen goes all loose and the whole process stops. Very frustrating door to use. I was expecting better from Andersen as they have a very good reputation for their products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great screan and decent price I love this door, it does stick at times but like a blind you make it taught again an all is well. We did have a minor hiccup with a part but a phone call and a couple of days and all was well. We do have a phantom screen as well but in comparison I prefer this one in looks and auto latch that isn't as good in the other screen. I would recommend this on merit and customer service.

I would like to know how we can replace this handle/latch as we do like the double screen door

Bought this screen door a couple weeks ago and I am very disappointed in it.It went together quite well,but the operation of it is terrible.Firstly one of the sliding doors posts has to make play in it making it very hard to match the catch.Secondly one of the screws that hold the door handle is stripped which doesn’t tighten or allow it to be taken out and replaced.And thirdly the sceen on one side is loose on the bottom.I will not recommend buying this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not great Product was good, and is exactly what was expected. The installation was easy. The challenge is the door ‘sticks’ when trying to open it, lower corner. Feels like something is not aligned well, and you have to play with it to get it to open. Not that big of a deal for me, low traffic, but if it was a main door I’d have a beef. My just be my installation, but, i am pretty handy, just can’t figure this one out.

Returned it without issue for a new one at Homed depot. Exact same problem with the replacement unit - broken spring on the active side. Returned it again with out issue , now looking for another product.

Looks great, only complaint is the top and bottom screen is not secured into track, not a big deal, but with small dogs they push on the screen , it usually just slides back in when you open the door. Other than that love it!

Does this retractable screen have a support post in the centre of the double door or do the retractable screens join to each other.

Thank you for your question. The Luminaire Retractable Double Screen Doors do not have a support post at the center. The screen pull bars of both the active and passive screens join to each other wherein the active screen handle/pull latches into the passive screen pull. Please visit the The Home Depot store nearest to your place to check the display doors. - Noel

Could you mount this on the inside of the door? as ours is an out swing double door.

the Andersen reply is only confusing at best. the swing of the door determiners its installation location. outswing doors will be mounted to the inside of the house. inswing doors will be mounted to the outside of the house. makes me question the any of the replies from Andersen.
