Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hardens like a rock I bought 3 of these 1 for each garage entrance. My orig asphalt had sunk about 4" and shrunk away from the garage cement floor about 2". I removed some of the old sand and dirt and added 1.5" of cement sand then had 1.5" left for the asphalt which I also would angle out for 7". I made a tamper from an old shovel handle and cut a 1" dia hole in a square thick piece of wood that was as thick as a joist and tapped the handle into the wood until it was tight. I added the asphalt and angled it onto the old asphalt without cutting it out and added an extra inch of asphalt all over for compaction. I then added close to 6 qts of water (got from online instructions) and started to tamp. In no time it was rock solid. I also went over it with my foot. I waited a couple of hrs before driving into the garage. The next day I bought a qt of crack filler from another store cause HD doesn't sell it and flowed it out at the top and bottom of my asphalt for a containment seal and it also dried fast. I know the price of the asphalt is expensive but after reading the reviews on the other brands that wouldn't dry, I went with this one. And it does stick to your old asphalt if you don't want to completely dig out the old asphalt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best ashphalt repair I've ever used. I have had a large dip in my driveway right in front of my garage. I've patched it several times but always had it come loose and break apart. The problem is that in the winter ice builds up in the dip and the freeze/thaw causes the patch to break apart. Last fall (Sept 2019) I decided to try this product. I broke up as much of the old ashphalt as I could and created an indented edge around the repair. Two buckets of this were poured into the patch (I did one half, then the other) and it was tamped down to pack it into place. This stuff is pretty coarse so it took a lot of pounding with the tamper to smooth it out but it did the job. So that was last year, and now in May 2020 the repair is as solid and flat as in the fall inspite of numerous freeze/thaw cycles throughout the winter.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A little disappointed I picked up this today for my driveway.... I had a few indents and uneven patches in my driveway. I think I may have had an old batch as the product was very clumpy and hard. I think the 4.0 would also have been more appropriate for my application as well but no one seems to carry that. Overall a little disappointed as with the batch I had was hard to get a smooth application. I'd like to try another batch and 4.0 to give this product another chance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from this is the product to buy i have an older garage that has some missing concrete on the slab and with our Edmonton winters they fill up and freeze and get worse every winter. using a concrete repair only does so much and usually cracks away. i decided to give this a shot and so far so good. was very easy to use and i guess we will see how the first winter goes but the product is very hard and i have more faith in it than any concrete material. who knows maybe i will get more for the rest of the old garage floor

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patching space between garage floor and driveway Bought this to fill a 2inx2inx17ft gap between the concrete garage floor and the asphalt driveway (used 2 pails). It was easy to scoop out and tamp down. Then added the water and tamped down more. A week later I bought a second pail and repeated the process. It seems to be adhering well, I'll see how it weathers the winter and spring freeze and thaw. At the moment I'm pleased with the price, ease of use and end result. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Harder to level than I thought it would be.. I bought the 6.0 in Canada…used it for the bottom layer because it’s a coarser finish. Bought 3 pails of the 4.0 from the states for the top to get a finer finish. Came out of the bucket easy. Little bit harder to spread evenly than I thought it would be. Levelled it out best I could and tamped it. Not thrilled with the finish. I had a 8.x 4 area to cover. Hard to get it all level. I thought I would need 2 buckets..I bought 4 buckets..should have bought 6 buckets. Doesn’t go as far as you would think it does. Going to seal it and see how it does this winter. I am going to get some cement dust to spread on top to get a better finish..then seal it..

Can this product be used for filling a sagging driveway? 2ft diameter, 1 inch sagging.

Asked by: Jack33221
Yes this product is good. I’m a 71 women, last year I used a big hammer on the vertical side. I broke down the little stones and flattened the product in three pot holes, and near the garage two doors, and at the end of the driveway. I used three and a half p..of this product. It gave good solid results.

I have a 10 inch diameter by 6 inch deep hole that needs filled. Will Aquaphalt be adequate for this application?

Asked by: David
Thank you for your inquiry. Aquaphalt may be applied at 6”. You will need to apply the product in two separate lifts of 3” each. Apply the first 3” and then water and tamper per instruction. Then apply the 2nd lift of 3” and water ant tamper.

Does this product shrink after hardening? If so, how much higher than the the surrounding surface should I make when I temper it, so that it becomes lavel afterwards?

Asked by: Candc
It did not noticeably shrink at all. That said, I would still put it slightly higher.

I have a sunken asphalt edge at my 9' wide garage door entrance. It is a depth of about 2" and a tapered width of about 8 to 10". Will a pail do it or do I need more?

Asked by: Patrick
The volume of what you are filling is about 1.35 cubic feet and the bucket contains about 1 cubic foot so unless you scale back the tapering you're going to need 2 buckets.
