Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks okay Very difficult to keep seams lined up as every sheet is a little bit different, a couple weren't even stamped square requiring trimming of all 4 sides to use it. Looks alright once it's up but it doesnt go up quick due to the reasons stated above.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well Installed a week ago as a counter top over plywood. Works well. If they'd meant waterproof they would have said water proof, not water resistant. I sure wouldn't use it in a shower but works great in kitchen

Rated 4 out of 5 by from White tileboard Easy to install. Wished the acrylic surface wrapped around edges. Dark backing shows, so will have to use white silicone grout to cover.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's o.k. and it looks o.k. It is what it is and it works. I wouldn't take 3 hour showers in it everyday but it looks o.k. as long as you cover the seams with white caulking or a bit of alkyd paint. Better then taking forever to tile.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's ok We use this in our shower but then we don't have a family of 6 showering for 45 minutes each, two people having a shower daily and it is fine, we painted the edges with enamel paint that one would use to fix a bang in a tub, to cover where it was cut. of course it is not tile but it works and to me looks nicer then those plastic tub surrounds. It is like any panel product for putting over walls, it is not a board it is a panel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfied Very fragile like other posts, but if you are careful it’s nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and easy I needed an easy way to cover up a crumbing wall and these faux tile boards worked great. I used in the kitchen as a backsplash. Easy to work with and half-way believable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but more delicate than I thought White finish is easily scratched and damaged. Otherwise looks great, it isn’t a high gloss finish perhaps more like a semi-gloss.

What material is this made of?

Asked by: DIYEnthusiast2023
I think that it is a fiber board like any kind of paneling is, used in many kinds of situations. We have ours in our shower, just two of us but we shower everyday and have had no problem with it.

Can these panels be used on the inside walls of a freestanding shower? Thank you.

Asked by: bushwah
Well that answer is not 100% clear.  The write up on the manufacturers web site calls them water resistant.  http://www.decpanels.com/products/aquatile . There used to be a manufacturer called Barker that made Barker board a very similar looking product that they actually endorsed for shower use. unfortunately Barker went bankrupt in the downturn of 2008.  The rules for successful shower use used to be that cut edges and drill holes for valves and pipes had to be sealed with high quality latex paint.  Additionally cut edges needed to be positioned along the back wall where they would not be seen.  Plus All joints like side wall to back wall or tub to panel had to be sealed with 100% silicone mildew resistant caulk.  An surface tears or scars needed to be sealed as soon as possible with either clear 100% silicone caulk, or a high quality latex paint applied with an artist brush to the scar.  Doing so religiously during installation resulted in over 15 years of trouble free service in two bathrooms I did this way. I imagine this is worth a shot in view of the similar attractive price.

Can this be painted, and what kind of paint can I use?

Asked by: Monica
I would try marine paint or enamel paint that one uses on a scratch in a bathtub and see.

I need to join 2 pieces of tileboard together what product would I use

Asked by: revovation
There are pieces you can purchase that will join the panels and looks great. I can't find them online, but they are in the same section as the panels.

How do you cut the board. Using it as a kitchen backsplash.  Thanks

Asked by: Liza
I used a table saw/miter saw with a good quality blade.  I also used painters tape to help avoid chipping but I don’t think this was necessary as my saw blades were good and did not cause chipping along the edge

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Asked by: Todd
Yes, I use this for a bathroom. I'm a DIY'er and this material (cardboard) was too easily damaged. I would not recommend unless you're a professional.
