Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but not the best Bought a large sheet to cut into strips for a french cleat wall. For the price it is good quality and does the job. This sheet actually comes accurately at 3/4", not thinner and not thicker. Both sides are fairly smooth and ready to use. The small problems of this was that there were some significant voids, and given that there are only 5 sheets glued in this plywood they leave a large void. The back of mine, and I didn't notice this when picking up, was also peeling so that part of the plywood was unusable. Overall this is decent quality with some flaws but 95% of the sheet was usable for me and did the job and a great surprise that it was really 3/4" thick.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sturdy, but not consistent. Honestly, the quality is pretty mediocre. Maybe it was because I had it delivered so there was no attention paid to quality faces, but I actually had to use the back side of one of the boards, the front was coloured and flaking deep, deeper than I was comfortable sanding without burning through the veneer. No voids, plenty strong, but I wouldn’t rely on this for anything aesthetic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent plywood Generally pretty decent plywood, with one good (sanded) side. Here and there some blemishes but overall not bad. Note that if you are planning to paint the plywood, best to apply two coats of primer and one or two coats of final paint as required. Also, after panting the sanded surface becomes somewhat rough, I suppose due to the fact that it was subjected to moisture in the paint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpriced Mediocre Quality Beware lots of sheets have wood filler on the sanded side, which finishes like garbage. Not worth the price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from GOS Plywood at Home Depot. This plywood is NOT great. The “good side” has lots of patching and/or wood filler. Back side has open knots. Inside plys have many imperfections. Almost every cut will expose a surprise hole. Plywood overall is not flat. Very bent and twisted. All issues added up make the price per sheet seem very unfair. Also, importing plywood from Chile instead of buying local from down the street seems crazy to me. When I have time I will be requesting refunds for some really bad sheets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite up to spec. Although generally the surfaces were clean there were enough blemishes so that I was unable to avoid them all when cutting the shapes I needed. These required filling before I could apply the finish. Also along my cut edges there were more voids that required filling than I would have expected.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plywood NOT GBS Called and asked if the plywood was good both sides and they re-assured me it was. When I got it, it was very clear that it wasn’t. One side was full of wood filler and not sanded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality Beautiful wood, perfect for the playhouse we built, yes it warped a bit, but once nailed down you can't even tell. The paint went on very smoothly, no bubbling, I did two coats. Perfect! Thank you!

Is this plywood good for flooring?

Asked by: Jenser341
Yes, I have seen it used for flooring. Just a good hard finish required. Be careful on the use of fasteners. Don’t want to create splinters.

Is it possible to have plywood cut to four pieces 24" X 46"?

Asked by: Karrots
Yes, Metrie products will cut fine with a circular saw. It shouldn’t splinter and will mainly produce dust, so having a form of dust collection will help make sawing the product easier. It’s easy to screw into as well. Depending on the application, make sure you’re using a large enough screw head to properly hold the board in place.

Can I use this for a shed roof? If not, what do you recommend

Asked by: Jcaps
Hi, Thank you for this question. The Standard Plywood Sku # 1000401027 would be sufficient. Assuming standard shingling practices are followed.

Purchased two 4x8 sheets and the sanded sides feels wavy. You can feel the different heights of the grain, the dark grain is higher then the light grain sections resembling hill and valley topology. I sanded a lot but still wavy, is this normal for G1S?
