Rated 1 out of 5 by from This tool is junk I spent several hours using this tool trying to repair rivets in my 16' aluminum boat. For every 1 rivet that it fastened properly, 4 failed. I spent more time trying to removed the failed rivets. Also the rivet "nail" would get stuck in the arrow tool. Then you have to remove the screws and open up the tool itself. The part design inside the tool is terrible and a pain to get back together. Very frustrating. I worked at Home Depot for 8+ years in the hardware department. I love Home Depot. But I will never buy this product again. I will be returning this item and buying something better.

Needed a riveter while installing a front lip spoiler on my new car, to fasten it to the front bumper (per GM instructions) and this riveter worked perfectly. The kit comes with a sturdy case, 100 rivets, and the rivet tool with 4 different rivet heads. It was very easy to use and the swiveling head made it really easy to work under the front bumper of my car without having to jack up the car at all. I would highly recommend this product!

Haven't actually used these yet, but the swivel design is interesting allowing you to get into spaces that a normal tool may not. Handles are a little short compared to other pop rivet tools so not sure how hard it will be to pop larger rivets. Comes with 4 heads and an assortment of 4 types of aluminum rivets. Also comes with drill bits, but I have a set of expensive cobalt metal drill bits I keep with my drill and will be using those. I expect that these bits are cheap and are a throw away item, but would work for a while if one didn't have any drill bits at all. 4 stars for now. If I were to use it and it worked really well then I would upgrade to 5 stars.

I purchased it for a project away from home and could not get to my good one. It looked well made on the shelf but in actual use it did not preform. It does not grip the rivet very well and always in the last 20% of the stroke so you get little tension on the rivet with each squeeze. It also grips the shaft at the top and I have had several shafts break in half requiring me to cut the shaft off and drill the rivet out to replace with a new one. Overall I feel this is a poor design so I recommend you look elsewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This was purchased in a kit that contained 3/16 rivets. This rivet gun would not "pop" the rivets... This was purchased in a kit that contained 3/16 rivets. This rivet gun would not "pop" the rivets correctly, leaving about half of the nail sticking out of the rivet. This was extremely aggravating and caused double the work trying to get the nail cut from the rivet and filing it off so it wasn't a safety hazard. The handles are also to short for that size of rivet. I am a large guy with big strong hands and I had to strain with both hands to get these to "pop". If you want to use it for 1/8 rivets it will do fine but save yourself the headache and get a bigger gun if you need it for larger rivets.

We'd probably need to see a picture of your particular situation. Just to clarify, this tool works with "pop rivets" only, not peened nor eyelet style rivets. If using pop rivets with plastic, thin sheet metal, or other 'soft' materials, a correctly sized backing washer should be used.
