These tiles were very easy to place/match up and cut - used a utility knife and even scissors. They stuck well and haven’t lifted yet, it’s been about 3 weeks since installation.

However, they were not as dimensional as they seemed in the photos - quite flat really - and they were stained with regular kitchen use splashes after one day and more so now. I can suck it up to adding some character but was disappointed.

Aspect can be installed over most structurally sound substrates if they are clean, flat, smooth, dry, and free of dust, wax, soap scum and grease. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and primed. If you do not wish to prime, we recommend using additional adhesive in the form of PL Premium to ensure adhesion. I am interested in using this product instead of tile at the top of a shower surround. Is this feasible?

Thank you for your interest in our Charcoal Slate Peel and Stick Stone Backsplash Tiles! While we do not recommend installing the tiles in a wet environment (such as inside a shower/on a shower wall) the panels can be used as an accent around a wet area. The tiles are natural and unsealed stone, so you may want to consider sealing the panels prior to installing them in that area. In addition, you could use a clear silicone around the perimeter of the installation to help prevent any moisture from seeping behind the panel. In addition, you could use additional adhesive in the form of PL Premium for some extra adhesive on the back of the panels. We applied the backsplash in our kitchen around stove, sink. Grease spatter from stove absorbed into facia. VERY difficult to clean because (and we didn’t realize this) stone facia is VERY porous. Is there a sealer that we can/should apply?? Love the backsplash, but cleanup after cooking exceedingly difficult. Would appreciate any advice. We have the Aspect 6X24 Charcoal Slate peel and stick. Thank you.......

Our stone tiles are unsealed, as a natural stone product it is very porous in nature. The tiles can be cleaned with any natural stone cleaner if you are unable to remove sports/splashes with simply soap and water. The panels can be sealed with a stone sealer or protected with a stone impregnator to protect against any future stains. Your local Home Depot store location will have many options in stock to choose from, Miracle Sealants tends to be a popular and successful brand used often. How many pieces would i need if i want to put around my fireplace?

Personally I would not use this product for that - with any warmth the glue will get soft and you will have issues with adhesion. Home Depot has other faux alternatives that are thicker and will not have the same problem because they are attached with either screws or a PL construction adhesive. I used this for a backsplash and have had just a few issues with adhesion - but for a fireplace and for the price - I would not recommend this.

Can these go on top of existing tile (ie kitchen)?

We would recommend using additional adhesive in the form of PL Premium to ensure adhesion to your substrate. Make sure your tiles are level, any cracks/divots should be filled in and leveled as well. I rent an apartment where the rules are basically if you paint/decorate you just have to restore back to white when moving out. If i buy these for the kitchen, will removal be simple (what if i use an extra adhesive as well?) can i paint after?

We've removed these tiles and it left a mess underneath. The top layer of drywall tore off and left a big mess of the wall. We ended up placing new stick on tiles after priming the surface.
